New category!

Sorry mj, it looks like I missed this one. Possibly like a "yard sale/used items" category? Since something like this would be a main category, we would need to get some input from other members... Possibly could you start a poll?

There is alot of people like me that only wants to buy Used Items and ones that list used items won't have theres mixed up with all the new items! Easy for everyone!

I would love it! It would match what I sell mostly and it really is what I buy mostly cause of affordability. I also like looking through it and when the new stuff keeps appearing in the way it makes it difficult and I usually give up because it is tiring. Come on admin separating used from new would probably help the new ones coming on and trying to navigate to what they are looking for also.

I don't know...Maybe??? I can foresee lots of sub-cats tho. 100% of Antiques, 50% Collectibles and 50% Pottery & Glass would list under "used". I list lots of used in Home & Garden too. Would it mean eventually restructuring the whole auction site into 2 main categories: New & Used and then 2 sets of what is now main categories?

Wouldn't a subcat in each main cat labeled used items work just as well? If a new item is placed in the used subcat, Admin would be able to move it.

Truthfully, I was thinking that we needed some type of "used" category, as I am really thinking an online yard sale would be a great way to lighten my load for next year's move.

How about "used" then just the other main categories as sub-categories.

I believe that the antiques, collectibles, and pottery/glass categories should remain the same.

Hey Bama..In most sights that I have assisted with cats..you have like many main
cats and then you have cat branches of the major and limbs (or I call sub-sub cats)
This is the way it is at e-- y..I bet at eb, there is hundreds of THOUSANDS of cats
and cats within cats..(make any sense?) :D IMHO, it can get to be TOO many..
Your groupings of antiques say JUST in glasswear and pottery..
you will have (at some sites, I have not checked this here)>>> (just ONE example)
Glasswear and pottery>>Glassware>>Depression>>1940-50s>>Janette Glass Co>>

(that is for ONE item) That is all ONE cat (Glass and Pottery) and many sub-cats.:eek:

Used would be good but it might be a lot of work getting it all set up ..What if there was a link to just view "Used" items? i mean i do think when you list a item you have the chance to click a box if the item is new or used ? then if this is the case it might not be too hard to list all used items.


Also ---i think we need a XBOX 360 category ? but i'm not sure i might have just missed it as i was looking at the accessories category
