Just uploaded 12 listings. These were edits of listings that had expired on the site. I edited the copy of the listing in the WAM and sent it to upload. It *said* it uploaded all 12, but only 2 are showing up. :( No error messages received. Help? Have ALOT more to go. :(

Now when your saying edits of items that expired on the site! You mean when they end on site you try to update them in wam?

Yes sir, I had some that closed on the site awhile back. So, I edited the listing in my WAM to spiffy it up a little (and add Revolution Money Exchange). But now it won't upload. The "Last Revision" date doesn't change either.
Don't tell me I can't do it this way....

If so you can't do it that way you have to do a sell simalar on the site then upload it to wam like a new auction

The ones on the site that ended are now dead auctions! If you try to open that same auction again by editing it in wam it will not list

James,
when you see this, could this be changed somehow? if they're closed on site, but they're still in our WAM, why not make it so we can relist them from the WAM if we want to? sorry, i'm just tired... :(

If an auction has ended, you should not be able to edit. Just think if it was a sold item, and sellers were able to edit... we would end up with scammers selling a nintendo, then changing to a postage stamp.
If you want to relist a duplicate of the same item, you would just use copy/paste (in WAM) to create a new item. Then upload the copy you just created and you will have a duplicate of the original, but with a new auction number.

What version are you running? Our latest release was changed, so pictures do not download if already present in your auction manager. Depending on your connection speed, downloading 5,600 pictures can take quite some time.

When you say the last version, are you talking about the custom version I sent you, or the version we provided everyone else after? I don't think the custom version had this change in it.

But she could use the edited ones in wam, to copy/paste and create new auctions. She just would not be able to upload the original edits.

Well boss, forget the PM I sent you. And I wasn't even tired when I sent it. You just answered that question of edit/upload listings that have closed. I forgot all about not being able to do that anymore. So just delete the PM I sent ya and save yourself some time in reading.

Note in WAM guys, when you do a new copy of a listing, the new one is the second one on the list. The old version of the listing is the first one. So when deleting the old version, keep in mind, it's the one listed first.

I am glad I was able to answer your pm in this thread. I am so far behind on pm's that some are probably begining to wonder if I am ignoring them. Just so everyone knows, I am behind on all my pm's... so nobody is being ignored, and I will get to these soon hopefully.

Also, the page icon in the left column will be a different color(not sure what color, as I am color blind) and not be checked, and the status column will say "new" for the new item.

I believe (when I did the copy/paste auction this mornin) it is an off greenish color instead of the sky blue....also the active items are a skyblue with a checkmark.....modified items are just sky blue without the checkmark.

Okay when everyone says copy/paste in WAM, how do you do that??? I have never been able to do anything with previous listings. Either I have to copy/paste from site, list similar, or start from new. Templates never save/work, ect. Just a handy HTML editor.

Hi Di,
As an experiment, choose a listing in wam. Single click on it, it should "highlight" it. Then right click and choose copy. Right click again and choose paste. You will/should find a duplicate listing. When it uploads to the site, it should have a different auction ID # than the original.
Note: On the left of your listings in wam, you should see a sky blue color box with a check mark by them. They are the currently running listings on the site. If you copy/paste one, the box next to the new one will be a different color, off greenish if I remember right.

Thanks Kat, :)
It worked. Never could figure that one out. I would right click, and never could get it to paste. This will save some time. :D

Yep it does, so what I do is find the listing in wam, that closed on the site. Do the copy and paste thing, then delete the "OLD" one in both wam and from the site.
Have to add, if you have a listing that has went into closed on the site, it does not delete it or move it out of wam. It still reads as if it is active.
So if you do monthly updates for say relists, you have to remove the ones from wam that have closed on the site. I think boss has fixed it to where those wont even load to the site but not sure.

I spend alot of time deleting old listings, after I have relisted, otherwise you can become overwhelmed, especially if you have several sites to deal with.
Thanks again :)
DiMoraGifts
09-20-2008, 04:51 PM
Your right, once auction is closed the only way to relist is from the site. Figured that one out awhile ago.
katandron1
09-20-2008, 05:01 PM
We used to be able to relist them from either WAM or site, but here is what was happening.
Say you had an item, and I placed a bid on that item. (Think it was doing it for buy outs too but not sure).
Then lets say you had more than 1 and wanted to relist to sell another, but just use the listing that I bid on to save work/time.
When you relisted that item, it was showing that I placed a bid on the new "relist", even though I had not.
So he took that option of relist from the site, and made it to only sell similar. And blocked the relist of the same auction # from WAM.

You can see how that could easily become a problem really fast. Besides those who aren't so honest :(
Have you heard any tidbits about the new platform? I know James has been working on it for sometime now.

di,
The new platform is still quite a ways out, so I do not recommend holding your breath for this just yet. Programmers estimated around March, but I have found estimates from programmers are usually off quite a bit. My guess would be June at the earliest.
The reason why it takes so long is because it is not just an update, but a recoding from the ground up. So it is a long wait, but I guarantee it will be worth it for all.

Your too funny. LOL
Here's a little diddy for ya....:)
Cut--you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home

I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper

But when it happens they wish they were dead!

We have a new release, which is available for download on our auction manager (http://www.webidz.com/auctionmanager.php) page. We have not released the auto update version yet, as this is still being tested. The auto update version should be released within the next 48 hours, as long as there are no issues found. This auto update will only work for the 2.4.xx versions. Previous versions will not receive this auto update.
There were a couple reports of issues when clicking the upload tab. Our programmers were not able to find any issues with this, and they think it may be associated with .NET application issues. We did make some slight changes with this process, but we are not sure if this will resolve this.
Those that want the new version right now can uninstall their current version, and install the new version.
