Hi Everyone
Some of my items are hard to find once you get to webidz.
For example i searched for: CS 110 Jesus Statue on Google. Ok it Pulls up a link which shows that exact statue; click on the link and webidz shows a bunch of dvd's Not related and other non related items. If i then type the phrase into the webidz search bar then the item comes up below a bunch of dvd's; so whats happening here is webids search engine is messed up. If a customer is looking for something in paticular it should take him or her directly to that item, not having to sift thru a bunch of other listings before finding the item. I know because i google all the time and sometimes (more often then not) if it seems the page ddnt take me to what i was looking for, i back out and try another search result from google. Now on google, if you click on "cached" then it brings it up on the 1st page and highlights the results which match, but alot of folks do not know about this feature, as it's below the link at the bottom.
Try typing in to google CS 110 Jesus Statue, it shows my listing but then the link does not take your there.
This kind of misdirection is extremely important to our sales on webidz and for this to work properly would be so much more benificial for sellers and buyers and thus our sales. Google is our best friend when it comes to our % of sales and i strongly believe we @ Webidz need to modify our existing search bar to bring in the most pertinent results 1st, on a basis or words entered which match in results VS results which are unrelated.
I Love Webidz and all the Buy it now options and the community as well, and left ebay after selling there with a store format and over 750 items listed and shipping from 7-35 items/week. But their policies and prices eventually broke me down and now i just list there on auction when i get an item for a dollar and dont care if it does not get alot of bids and i link in the listing the webidz store dcacperfectsoundsolution
James if you could have some technicians start working on the search bar i (and all of us, even if they don't know it yet) would really appreciate a better search result on the site...
Yours Truely

PS The reason i realized this again, (as brought up in this forum previously about other listings) is because i was getting ready to list a Sacred Heart Jesus CS 110 BEAUTIFUL 9" Plaster Statue and googled to see if anyone else was selling a CS Statue and i found my own listing for: Sacred Heart Jesus CS 110 BEAUTIFUL 12.5" Plaster Statue! My Religion used to be a big seller on ebay and someday i hope to get back to that degree on webidz, and still have about 100 statues to list.

Clifford,

I checked the google search that you listed, and it is showing the category page that your item was seen on, and not the actual item. So when you click that link, you are taken to a browse page for the category the item is listed in. If you click an auction link from google, you would be taken directly to the auction listing on WeBidz. So the google search is functioning correctly, it is just that you are clicking a cat listing instead of an auction listing.

The site search is a problem that we are aware of, and we will be releasing a new search with our new platform. Currently a basic search on WeBidz for "CS 110 Jesus Statue" would return results for any items that have "CS", "110", "jesus", or "Statue" in the title. So basically single phrase searches will return more relevant results at this time.

We are currently working on an individual gbase feed, where our members can make a couple clicks, and have all their items listed in google shopping. So this will be a great benefit to any of our sellers utilizing this feature. We had hoped to already have this released, but there has been more bugs than expected. We are almost there though, and hope to release shortly.

Did you get it going yet, and if so How does it work?

I was trying google feeds the other day and i'm lost as i dont know how they work....

Looked as though it only worked with google base items which i updated and provied a link to our webidz store in case it did work but i felt like i had to be a real geek to understand it and have it work for me.

Always looking for ways to advertize and i do some on craigslist for our site but it's still not enough,so please any help with this RS feed business would help?

Ps Go Brother Obama, Go!

Clifford,

Yes, this is something we are still working on. The method that we initially developed left some security vulnerabilities, so we had to scrap it and start over. The newest version should be completed any day now.
