Please use this thread only to request being signed up for this contest. For question about a specific contest, please see the appropriate "questions and comments" thread for each contest.

This contest is a monthly contest, which will be run every month until further notice. Participants must sign up for this contest here, and remain an active community member (no more than 30 days between posts). As long as participants are active community members, they will automatically be rolled over for the next months contests. So there is no need to keep signing up every month.

Each sale from participants in the contest will result in a "ticket" being entered for that user. So if a member has ten sales for the month, they would have ten tickets for this drawing. At the end of the month winners will be randomly chosen from all tickets awarded for the month. Winners will be chosen via a random MySQL query (computer generated), and the results will be posted on the Sell2Win page.

Payouts and/or prizes will be increased over time, as popularity and activity increases for this contest. Payouts and prizes will be completed on the 7th of each month, for the previous month. Payments or link placements may be delayed if there is question about the validity of sales, or if there are transactions that have not been completed.

RULES:
* Sellers are not allowed to purchase their own items, via another account.
* Purchases from the same household or PC would be considered a "self purchase", and is not allowed for contest participants.
* All sales must be an actual transfer of funds for goods or services. Sales found only for the purpose of building sales numbers are not allowed.
* Non paying bidder reports will result in that sale being removed from the sellers total, but will not affect the sellers contest status. This includes sellers reporting such transactions, or sales that we may remove.
* All winners will be posted in the "Winners Circle" forum. Winners must make at least one post in the thread we use to announce their win, within seven days of the prize/cash being awarded.

Violations of any of the above rules could disqualify sellers from the current and/or future contests. Disqualified sales from non paying bidders will not cause any negative impact on sellers contest status.

PRIZES:
1st place: Home page graphic link and $25 cash payout. Home page graphic link would be like current featured store link, and would be placed directly under the site stats section on the home page. This link would be displayed for the following month, and seller must provide a 100x100 pixel graphic for their store. Cash payout would be paid via Paypal.

2nd place: $25 cash payout, paid via paypal

3rd place: $10 cash payout, paid via paypal

Yes, I was thinking of some sort of listing challenge also. I would like to ultimately have this as an automated system, such as these two that we just released. Such a contest would most likely not start until the next months contests though (March). If you had any ideas about doing one prior to this, just send me a PM with more details and we can discuss further. You would most likely have to run this manually... which of course means that you would not be able to participate in :(

I am not sure exactly how it would work yet. Most likely it would be a random selection from the top ten listers, or something similar. More details will be posted as this further develops.

MILLIONS of its' loyal old sellers right to the alternative sites..so now we BUILD!! List list list,

Great link Lana. Very interesting read and will be interesting to see what happens on other sites. We all need to do our part by attracting buyers here. Spread the word to buyers so that we won't end up with a site full of sellers. I know some do both, but there are some that do only one aspect of it. So if alot of sellers come here we are not gaining anything. But will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next couple of months.

Kat..you prolly don't know, but JB & I have been on staff at powersellersunite for 3
years..and man is it getting talked over there..see the original fight (or I say 'mission')
of PSU was to BUILD alternative auction sites..in recent months, that mission has cooled,
but I see it is about to start up again..With admins permission, I want us to get on as many
board (forums) as we feel comfortable and really talk these promotions up..Kat...you made
some very valid points, and I will add to that, IMHO, if we continue to attract and build great
stores, honest dependable sellers, the buyers will come..I have to say that MOST of the
groups I am are BUSINESS, and they are MOSTLY all sellers..so how do we expand that
ladies?? We are all going to have to promote, and I know Admin, is working hard and has
a lot of expense. I want to really get in now and do my part..all of us working..LOL, like I
have always said if the alternative sites would just come together!! but HOW?? :confused:
