Hi kids,
I'm new to this site.
I just listed 2 pair of motorcycle sunglasses, I went back to search them, and I noticed that only one search word worked at a time. I typed in motorcycle sunglasses and got everything related to motorcycles. Can you do a two word search? I would not want to have a customer have to go through many pages to find a specific item. Thanks

Our current search function uses "boolean" search, which searches for all terms entered. So if you do a basic search for "pioneer sterio", it will search and return results for any auctions that have "pioneer" or "sterio" in the title. So it would actually return better results by only entering a single descriptive term.

We are currently looking into new search technology, but will not be able to have an immediate resolution for this issue.

Boolean search is a fairly simple and inexpensive search feature, which is most likely why many use (including us). We have actually received quotes for custom search development, and it looks as if it would cost over 200,000.

Since we already have architecture being developed for a new and improved software platform, we will most likely complete all at the same time. Instead of spending money now that is not in the budget, then have to rework everything 12-18 months down the road.

We understand the current search is very lacking, but we have to make decisions that will enable us to stay in business for the long haul.

That is what we like to hear, Webidz being here for the long haul!! I sure plan on being here for the long haul.

Thank you for all your help and kindness, but even more for all your hard work. :D

That is why so many good folk gravitate here.

Thanks again,

LOL, I know this is off topic , but just a suggestion..I sent our new WEBIDZ
newsletter to almost everyone in my email mailbox, and I am already getting questions
from 4 of the best sellers I know, and 2 have already signed up..Maybe and idea.
I was NOT spamming, just sending the news!!
My!! do we EVER have great news here!! :D

Re; The search thing ok....say I wanted to search for greeting cards, I would be better off
just to key in just the word 'greeting' to avoid a return of hundreds of items that I don't
want to search. Our wonderful admin will get it right, it may take some time and major
expense..I don't know how it works.

Is everyone ready to start the contest..yal check my auctions, I will be listing (I am SO
slow)!! I prolly will start bidding at around 12:01 TONIGHT ~~!! :D

OH Admin, will this start at Eastern time, or webidz time??(help)

Both of these contests will start tracking at 11:15 PM PST (tonight), and will update each night at the same time. We will be releasing the page that displays the contest leaders around the 5th-7th... We want to first be sure everything is calculating and displaying correctly.

Note: Any auctions that are purchased after 11:15 tonight will be counted. So If you have a bid on an item now, that ends tomorrow... this would be counted, as the purchase time would be when the auction ends (tomorrow).
