Does anyone have a scrumptious recipe for lemon pound cake?

Hi Inspiration,
Heres an easy one that I use quite often, makes a great strawberry shortcake!!

Golden Lemon Pound Cake

2/3 c butter (unsalted) / or butter Crisco ( I prefer the real thing)
1 1/4 c sugar
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 tsp lemon extract
1/2 tsp vanilla (may omit)
2/3 c milk (whole or 2%, don't use skim)
2 1/4 c cake flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3 eggs (med)
Confectioners sugar
In a mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar, beat in lemon juice and extract. Add milk, beat for 30 seconds. Sift cake flour, salt, and baking powder, gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed for 2 min. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 min. after each.
Pour into a greased wax paper/parchment paper lined 9 x 5 loaf pan. Bake at 300* for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 min. before removing from pan. Cool completely on a wire rack. remove wax paper/parchment, dust with confectioners sugar.

Great...Thank you! Is this a heavier cake, more dense and moist with a real lemony flavor? :)

I think it's perfect, but if you want a real heavy cake,
use 2 whole eggs plus 2 egg yolks,
and use aprox. 1/4 cup less of milk.
But watch your cooking time;) and don't over mix.
You can add more lemon extract or
even lemon zest for a stronger lemon flavor.
Another alternative, depending on what you are using the cake for,
is to make a simple lemon syrup
and over several hours glaze/drizzle cake letting it soak into cake. :)

Simple Syrup ~Lemon
1 c sugar granulated
1/2 c water
1/2 c lemon juice
Lemon rinds

In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water, and rinds to a boil;
simmer until the sugar is dissolved, aprox 3 min.
Remove from the heat and let cool completely. add lemon juice. Taste, add 1 tsp lemon extract for extra lemon zing:)

Oooh, I like the lemon syrup suggestion. That should make it really moist. Also the lemon zest for a stronger lemon flavor. I think I'm hungry ;)

I made the cake. It's gone. :D Next to chocolate, lemon is the bomb :) Try it...you'll like it.
