html doesn't work at all [Archive] - WeBidz Auctions Community

HELP!!! I've been trying for 2 days to get the html to work in the editor with no luck. I copy and paste and paste it to <> button like someone said but no pictures, frames, spaces or anything. All the words just run together. I'm copying from netscape editor. it looks great in the view/edit source but not when others see it

* I buy most my used items at local auction and I check them the best I can and tell what I know so Onless I say different all items are sold as is!!!

First of all I treat everyone the way I want to be treated but as everyone knows some people would complain even if I paid them to take my items. LOL 
1. I do my very best to describe the items I am selling. However, some of these items may not fall under my expertise. Unless otherwise specified, all items are sold "as-is". I have listed exactly what is for sale. 
2. I expect to hear from buyers within three working days. If I have not heard from a buyer by one week after the close of an auction, I reserve the right to offer the item to the next person. 
3. I list so many things I do make mistakes once in a while. If you see one don't be afraid to let me know. 
4. Due to selling only about half of what I list, I cannot afford to box everything up before listing. So all quotes before bids is weight for item only, not the weigh of the boxing materials.. I will try to add the weight of item to my listing where possible. 
5. Please bid on items ONLY if you are serious about purchasing them! I know that we all have problems. But your problems should not be mine. Unless otherwise stated, all items will be shipped from Campbellsville, Kentucky.

1. All transactions are to be conducted in US funds. 
2. I expect payment or at least hear from you within 3 days by Paypal, When paying by Checks or Postal Money order you must let me know when you mail so I won't relist .. 3. Pickup items: I expect at least a desposit (no exceptions check Description for amount) within 3 days by Paypal, When paying by Checks or Money orders you must let me know when you mail so I won't relist after a week.. and the rest at pickup.

1. Buyer pays the actual shipping costs only. I will ship anywhere in the U.S.A. Since I do not add handling fees, packing fees, boxing fees, or fee fees (onless stated in above description), it may take me a few days to come up with adequate packaging material. Especially on larger items. If it is a PICKUP item I will say so in the Description above 
2. I generally use the USPS Priority for lighter items , UPS for heavier items. If you do not buy the insurance then I not responsible for lost or broken items once they are shipped..

I have looked into this issue. The reason your html is not displaying is because there is dynamic results being displayed with your Repatoo banner, and our system is stripping your html. Our system blocks dynamic content, as this could be used to display malicious content that could harm users PC's. I have removed the repatoo banner for this auction, and your html is displaying correctly now.

I am going to contact Pete at repatoo, to see if there is an alternate display option.

This should be all set now... but you will have to log back into your Repatoo account to get the new HTML code (with the non-dynamic image) to insert. Sorry for the inconvenience!

one more thing, when I click on the link to view items for sale, its shows ebay sales but not Webidz sales. What is wrong there?

Right now, we are unable to pull items for sale at many sites. This is an unfortunate technical limitation. Hopefully, at some time in the future, we will be able to do so.

We have changed your repatoo banner, so it is now displaying properly. There were various issues with the code format you were using. Please go to your signature in the user CP, to see the proper format for a community signature.

Do you need a member specific dynamic url, where only the username changes to show items for sale from that member? Or is there a different technical limitation?

Well... we tried "scraping" the for-sale items from the individual users so that we could display them on the Repatoo site, we could get the info, but we had some major performance issues (to the point where it was almost unusable).

I am considering revisiting that method and maybe just re-architecting the way the system makes and handles the request/response to try to improve performance. Really, the best (and most efficient) way for us to get the for-sale info would be to accept an XML or text message from an API call. I think we talked about that before, and I know that it is no small project to expose an API, which is why I never expect it... but we would definitely not be opposed to it :)

As of right now we are having a hard time keeping up with our current work, but it may be a possibility down the road. Would there be any way to display the results in a frame from each site? That way the banwidth and resources would not be server intensive on you.

Sorry for the delay in replying... had the flu all week and just starting to come around to feeling human again.

That is definitely a viable option. Much like you, we have been overwhelmed with feature requests and requests for site additions... we are going to sit down here early next week and start to prioritize and make an implementation plan.
