I'm wondering if you use this just for beef? It sounds like it would be good for chicken too.

Hey Sandra..I have used it as a chicken marinade as well..you may also use some
sort of 'sweetener' to it, if desired..(for a more 'sweet n sour taste).

Thanks, Lana. That sounds good. By sweetener, do you mean a touch of Karo syrup? That would make a nice glaze that would stick to the chicken. Have you ever tried it with orange pop?

Sounds GREAT Brad.. I have done that one, Sandra I have also used Karo,
brown sugar, or whatever I had without going to store. :D Diabetics seem to
be having good results with the 'SPLENDA' brown sugar (if needed.) our
chefs on my cooking groups (even non-diabetic) seem to love it.
BTW..any orange flavor is good for pork or chicken.. I usually use orange juice,
or real oranges, though. JMO :D

I had seen a recipe with the orange pop. I think it was used for a sweeter flavor and no karo or brown sugar would be needed. However, I think the orange juice would give it a more 'orange-y' and zestier taste.
I should have been trying all these when I had nine people around the dinner table every day last week :)

Heres Another Great Marinade! Excellent for Grilling!
12 ounces (1 standard can) cola (not diet)
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
Black pepper or hot pepper sauce to taste
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Place meat in freezer ziptop bag or covered container. Pour marinade over meat. Marinate overnight for jerky or at least two hours for grilled meats.
For grilled meats: Drain meat from marinade, reserving marinade. Boil reserved marinade for at least five minutes and use as a mop sauce for the grilled meat.
This is an Awsum marinade!! try it sometime!:)

Hey, Brad
Sounds great, except for reusing the marinade.... just FYI, I was watching The Next FoodNetwork Star the other night and Tyler Florence said you must never ever reuse a marinade after it has been in raw meat of any kind. One of the contestants was giving a short commercial tip and before she could finish saying "boing used marinade" he stopped her and said "only if you want to make someone sick".
I'm just saying.....
Be better to keep some of the marinade out before putting in with the raw meat...that way you would have some to mop on the meat while grilling...
Have you heard of this mopping or spraying sauce to put on grilling meat:
Chicken broth, vinegar, worcescheshire sauce, salt and pepper.
