I thought whatever I put in the Prefilled Fields "Description" area would be sort of a tag to all of the auctions I listed from WAM - sort of a footer.....

I put in some info that I want on the end of each auction, but this info could change, so wanted it to be in the prefilled field section in my WeBidz but it is not showing up. I realize there is a lag but wanted confirmation.

I guess I will have to copy and paste this into each auction.

Any suggestions are welcome!

I use SellerSourceBook templates for my listings and can not seem to get them to work!! Dang!
Thought I was going to get some turbo listing done!! The text shows up in my listings but that is it. No pics. After I paste the html code in I click the <> sign...apply....ok Boom it should be there right? I tried this when I first opened my store and just gave up. But now that my ebay is shut down I have lots & lots of things I could get listed with ease. Someone please help!

Was SellerSourceBook hosting your pictures? Maybe that is why they are not showing up. Do you have your own domain that you host them on? I am making progress, it is slow, but it IS progress. I wish you the best.

You need to click on the <> first and insert your code between the <>....at tleast that is my understanding of it, I am just a newbie.

Hope you have a productive day.

Carol,

The auction manager does not have a description section in prefilled fields (preferences screen). Are you talking about the templates? If so, when you are creating a new auction from a template, you would want to just put your auction description above any prefilled info you may already have entered.

We may be able to add a section just for displaying the repatoo banner. We could also set this up on the preferences page as well, so it will show on all newly created auctions. We need to work through these current update issues though... Our programmers are not liking me right now. These current issues are ridiculous, and should not be happening if they were doing their job right. They are good programmers, they just need to follow our specific completion order.

Are you using dynamic url's or images? One easy way to tell if it is a dynamic url would be if it has a "?" in it. If any of your html has such url's, all the html would be stripped for security reasons. If you could provide the html, we could look at it for you and tell you what the issue is.

I was referring to the Description field when I click on PREFILLED FIELDS and change/edit that.

I was hoping what was saved in there would be a "FOOTER" to all my auctions and I could just change out the footer as needed.

As is, I am adding this WeBidz footer to each auction. Doable, but a lot of extra work.

Thanks.

By the way, it is confirmed:

Any time I edit my auction from My WeBidz page (instead of WAM), it re-alligns the page and things go off center.

Thanks so much for all you do.

Diana,

The reason why your auction appeared that way (we have fixed for you), is because you entered the html on the preview page.

Instruction for entering html on the site:
When you get to the description section, you can only enter text into the open box. If you want to add html, you will need to first click the view source button, which looks like "<>". This button is located on the top right section of the description editor. A screen will pop up, where you can enter your html. Use the buttons at the top of the screen to "cut", "copy" or "paste". When you are done, click the apply button, then the ok button. You will now see how your auction will display when listed.

Instructions for entering html in WAM:
Click the little screen next to the description box. This will open the html editor, by default to the preview page. Click the source tab and enter your html. Click the preview tab and this will show you what your aution will look like when uploaded. Click the save button and that screen will close and save changes.

Wow, thanks for putting that so SIMPLY! I was doing the wrong thing as well!

Note: Even though it appears you can edit in WAM HTML Preview Tab just because you can make changes, it isn't so. If you try to save from that window, you lose what was in your Main Description in WAM.

I have learned to make changes in the HTML Source tab of WAM and save there, NOT in the Preview, cause you lose it all. At least that has been my experience.

Awesome help here, thanks so much!

yeah, we just had this reported to us a few days ago. You can make changes on the preview screen, but it does not apply until you click the source screen. We are presently working on the update issues, as well as some sales page/invoicing bugs... Once we get done with those, we will be addressing this issue.
