Sometimes, we have to be in-between.

One of the most difficult parts of our life is the concept of letting go of
what is old and familiar, and be willing to stand with our hands empty while
we wait.

Being in-between can apply to many areas of life. We can be in
between jobs, careers, homes, or goals.
We can be in between behaviors as we let go of the old
and are not certain what we will replace it with. This can
apply to behaviors that have protected and served us well all of our life,
such as care taking and controlling.

There may be many feelings going on when we're in-between:
spurts of grief about what we have let go of or lost, and feelings of anxiety, fear, and
apprehension about what's ahead.
These are normal feelings for the in-between place.

Being in-between isn't fun, but it's necessary.
It will not last forever.
It may feel like we're standing still, but we're not.
We're standing at the in-between place.
It's how we get from here to there.

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful,
then no matter how much we have we will not be happy
-- because we will always want to have something else or something more.

Not sure who MB is??:)
I found this somewhere a while back, and saved it.
And then framed a copy for my bedroom wall
it's a great reminder when you get frustrated with life.....
sometimes it's good to be still, and let life take care of things.

If you think you are beaten, YOU ARE
If you think you dare not, YOU DON'T
If you would like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch, YOU WON'T
If you think your out classed, YOU ARE

You've got to THINK high to RISE
You've got to be SURE of yourself in order to WIN a prize
Lifes battles don't always go to the strongest, or fastest,
but the one who WINS is the one who THINKS THEY CAN!!!

May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have,
or shouldn't have,
spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have.
As we value our happiness, let us not forget it,
for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy
without the things we cannot or should not have.

How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving
and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life you will have been all of these.

A Brand New Start

God sometimes brings us to a place
where answers can't be found...
where we cannot see tomorrow,
for confusion all around.
Yet deep inside we realize
that all things work for good...
even times when we've been wounded
and we feel misunderstood.
Don't dwell on the injustice
and stay focused on God's heart...
find forgiveness and go on,
you can make a brand new start.

Dare To
by : Unknown
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you're feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you've done your best.
Dare to be the best you can.
At all times, Dare to be!

Dare To Be
by: Unknown

EVERYBODY KNOWS ...
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

SO ...
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of "being you."

THEN ...
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due,
And you'll be a most vital mortal.

DARE TO BELIEVE ...
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Though the circular round-and-round of routine
be the bulk of life's affairs,
make an occasional jutting diversion -
of fun, love, or something that will outlast you -
so the shape and motion of your life
shall resemble the round lifegiving sun
with bright rays shining forth from all directions.

I just have to share this.

I liked this so much that I emailed it to many friends and acquaintances. I got an answer back from one person whose husband has been out of work for
1 1/2 years. She replied, "Thank you so much for sending this today as Craig and I really needed to see it. Today we will be deciding if Craig should accept a job in China."

The next day, I wrote a simple, "How are you doing?"

She replied, "I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, and especially the scripture and Build Upon What You Build :-)
I am pretty sure that we will be going to China ...just waiting on clarification of offer details. It will definitely be a huge leap of faith, as dealing with an Indonesian company and working and living in China will present it's challenges. On the other hand, we will just look at it as a wonderful adventure and all will be fine ....
God puts you where he wants you..."

And so, I am quite sure that posting this piece on that day and my emailing it was no coincidence, but part of something greater.

Everything We Do
by: Unknown

We may not always realize
that everything we do
Affects not only our lives
but touches others too.

A single happy smile
can always brighten up the day
For anyone who happens
to be passing by your way.

And a little bit of thoughtfulness
that shows someone you care
Creates a ray of sunshine
for both of you to share.

Yes, every time you offer
someone a helping hand,
Every time you show a friend
you understand.

Every time you have a kind
and gentle word to give,
You help someone to find beauty
in this precious life we live.

For happiness brings happiness
and loving ways bring love,
And giving is the treasure
that contentment is made of.

A New Box,

A little story,
Every year we have our Family Reunion, and
on the final night we all get together around a huge bonfire,
hold hands and sing this song.
I could start crying right now.
Then we say a combined goodby and prayer to those we have lost that year.
Very powerful, especially when sometimes there are close to 200 of us.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down,
probably will.
You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts.
You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them,
and you'll cry because time is flying by.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely,
and love like you've never been hurt.
Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances.
you just have to live life to the fullest,
tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off,
speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand,
comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up,
stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts.
Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all,
live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset
is a second of happiness you can never get back.

Life Is Filled With Possibilities
by: Larry S. Chengges,

life is filled with possibilities
that challenge us each day
to take a chance, try something new,
see things a different way.
And it's through these special moments
that we learn to change and grow,
to explore the precious gift
to who we are and what we know.
Unless you take a chance or two,
in order to begin...
there's nothing we can hope to gain,
no prize that we can win.
For it's not until we try
that we find out
what we can do...
so don't wait until tomorrow
to discover something new!

If you don't think every day is a great day try going without one.
Jim Evans

Really, why go through life if you don’t take the time to appreciate it, and the adventures it brings?
There is much beauty in simplicity. And the simple things.
A snowflake, a leaf, the smile lines around someone’s mouth, or the elegance of a sunset.
But sometimes we get so busy we fail to appreciate the beauty all around us.
We pass by unexpected marvels every day.
The more our concerns distract us, the harder it is to notice these marvels.
We live in a time of increasing anxiety about money, investments and possessions, life in general.
With the fast-paced lifestyles we all seem to face these days, it’s hard to slow down,
or even remember what you’ve done from week to week.
What is to become of us?
Maybe it’s time to try to change that.
We need to take a time out and realize that the little things are what people remember most.
A child's smell, a beautiful song, a smile from a stranger,
a glorious sunset, waking up to
another A New Day

Life's Tug Of War
by: Unknown

Life can seem ungrateful - and not always kind.
Life can pull at your heartstrings - and play with your mind.
Life can be blissful - and happy and free.
Life can put beauty - in the things that you see.
Life can place challenges - right at your feet.
Life can make good - of the hardships that we meet.
Life can overwhelm you - and make your head spin.
Life can reward those - determined to win.
Life can be hurtful - and not always fair.
Life can surround you - with people who care.
Life clearly does offer - its ups and its downs.
Life's days can bring you - both smiles and frowns.
Life teaches us to take - the good with the bad.
Life is a mixture - of happy and sad.
So.....
Take the life that you have - and give it your best.
Think positive, be happy - let God do the rest.
Take the challenges - that life has laid at your feet.
Take pride and be thankful - for each one you meet.
To yourself give forgiveness - if you stumble and fall.
Take each day that is dealt you - and give it your all.
Take the love that you're given - and return it with care.
Have faith that when needed - it will always be there.
Take time to find the beauty - in the things that you see.
Take life's simple pleasures - let them set your heart free.
The idea here is simply - to even the score.
As you are met and faced with - Life's Tug Of War.

Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account
each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day.
Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.
What would you do?
Draw out every cent, of course?
Each of us has such a bank. It's name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose.
It carries over no balance.
It allows no over draft.
Each day it opens a new account for you.
Each night it burns the remains of the day.
If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no drawing against "tomorrow."
You must live in the present on today's deposits.
Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success!
The clock is running!! Make the most of today.
Treasure every moment that you have!
And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special,
special enough to spend your time with.
And remember time waits for no one.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
That's why its called the present.

Allow Your Own Inner Light to Guide You

There comes a time when you must stand alone.

You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.

You must be willing to make sacrifices.

You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.

Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.

There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.

Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.

Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.

Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.

Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way.

It's Up To You
by: Unknown

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.

One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.

One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.

One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.

One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.

One life can make the difference,
You see, IT'S UP TO YOU!

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the approbation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To give of one's self;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived —
This is to have succeeded."

Take Time:
Take time to think
It is the source of all power.

Take time to read
It is the fountain of wisdom.

Take time to play
It is the source of perpetual youth.

Take time to be quiet
It is the opportunity to seek God.

Take time to be aware
It is the opportunity to help others.

Take time to love and be loved
It is God’s greatest gift.

Take time to laugh
It is the music of the soul.

Take time to be friendly
It is the road to happiness.

Take time to dream
It is what the future is made of.

Take time to pray
It is the greatest power on earth.

Take time to give
It is too short a day to be selfish.

Take time to work
It is the price of success.

There is a time for everything. . . .

Appreciating Our Past
It is easy to be negative about past mistakes and unhappiness.
But it is much more healing to look at ourselves and our past in the light of experience, acceptance, and growth.

Our past is a series of lessons that advance us to higher levels of living and loving.
The relationships we entered, stayed in, or ended taught us necessary lessons.

Some of us have emerged from the most painful circumstances with strong insights about who we are and what we want.
Our mistakes? Necessary.
Our frustrations, failures, and sometimes stumbling attempts at growth and progress?
Necessary too.

Each step of the way, we learned.
We went through exactly the experiences we need to, to become who we are today.
Each step of the way, we progressed.
Is our past a mistake?
No.
The only mistake we can make is mistaking that for the truth.

I can accept, with gratitude, all that has been brought to me today.
