Yep, you guessed it, school is starting again and that means that my Demon team will be starting back up.
Thank you to all my WeBidz supporters from last year. Let's do it again this year. We have a new head coach that from what I hear, was the assistant coach for the OU football team.

So here is how this is played...I will post the score from each game...You have to sign up in this thread to play.

For each game that the Demons win...I will give every person signed up and cheering my team along, 300 webex points.

For each game that the Demons loose....I will give each person signed up 200 webex points.

As soon as I get the schedule I will come back and edit this thread.

So let's get out there, find some great graphics and cheer the Demons on to some kind of victory this year!

This should turn out to be an interesting year with the new coach.

Rozzie was such a great cheerleader last year, too bad her efforts didn't pay off on the way the boys played LOL.

Is this Pop Warner or High School? Maybe I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong but I'd love to help any way I can. I played varsity football for 5 years. As an 8th grader, I was such a large person, they let me join early. From there I played semi-pro ball for 15 more years till my knees gave out.

From what I've read so far, the team is on a slump right now. What kind of offense/defense do you run? Do you utilize the soccer team (if in HS) when it comes to PAT/field goals/Kickoffs/punts?

Hey there Arc, I know nothing about football. This is just a fun thread to do to get people active in the forums and interact with other members.

This is my home town team and I root for them weather they are winning or loosing. This town is so small, we don't have a soccer team. We have football, baseball, softball and basketball, and track.

You are so right........My two teams to watch are my Demons and OU. My little brother is an OSU fan (actually he is for anyone that is playing OU) and the phone calls and text messages do not stop during the games on Saturdays. There's nothing like a little friendly family rivalry.

Was up late last night and on T.V. there was a high school sports show on, and they had the new head coach for Dibble on it.

He talked about not just teaching the boys to play better, but also along the way giving them life lessons. He said that they may not win a game this year, but he wants to teach them to play hard, be proud and have fun while doing it. One of the boys was featured on it also, and so far, they have nothing bad to say about the coach, and they looked like they were practicing hard.

Ice hockey is the do or die sport here in NY. I went to school with 2 NHL'ers. Robert Esche who now plays in Russia was at one point the starting goaltender for the Philadelphia Flyers. Also in my graduating class is Mark Mowers who is mainly a journeyman. Good enough to be in the NHL but not good enough to be a starter. I believe he in now playing in Norway. Both have wikipedia entries for anyone interested.

One more thing for those of you that know my last name. I am not related to Mark's wife even though we have the same last name.

My boyfriend is from Michigan where Hockey Is do or die there as well! He is a HUGE hockey fan! Im from Texas and Football reigns supreme! However, I am NOT a Cowboys fan, yes the parents are disappointed! LOL He likes football, which is great and Im learning hockey! However, Im a HUGE Nascar fan, so he's learning a new sport as well!

We live in Oklahoma now, where soccer is huge, but we still get Friday night football! IT is hard to live here and have all these Sooners fans around though, and my oldest son a OSU fan! :eek:

Okay, I figured out our problem guys.......Dibble has ALWAYS been a class A school. Guess what, we are now a class 2A school because of our student body count. So now we are playing the bigger schools, bigger than us but not big enough to move to the next class. Guess all these city folk that are movin to our small town best be talkin some of their kids into playin some football for our team now :D

How about a spirit week starting Sunday, 9/20 to show our support for the Demons.

Sunday will be good thougts and prayers for the Demons a closer game than last week. At least one touchdown, hey don't want to ask for a miracle. Kat would have a heart attack.

Monday will be pajama day, everyone wear their PJs to support the Demons.

Tuesday is backward day, everyone wear their cloths backwards for support of the Demons.

Wednesday is flannel day, everyone wear flannel to show their support.

Thursday is blue and white day, everyone wear the colors of the demons. We will have a snakewalk through town Thursday evening, followed by a bonfire. Be there or be square!

Friday is spirit day, everyone where the best Demon wear. Team members are to wear a shirt and tie, cheerleaders should wear their uniform.

Pep assembly in the gym and 2pm cdt, bring your loudest voices. Mandatory attendance, no cutting, this is our time to let the team know that we support them. They need to know that just because the lost, we still support them.

Remember this is a building year, we have a new coach and he does not know our teams strengths and weaknesses yet.

They tried to get rid of the gold........they went to blue and black for a while but I think they are bringing the gold back now....to me....it will always be blue and gold. Not sure where the white came from except that it is a base color in the color world.

The color scheme is just one of the things they have tried to change.......Here is our big thing every year......we have a school population of ooohhhh around 1k students (give or take a few). So let's just say that the town population is around 3k people.

There are a total of 6 churches in the town.....EVERY year we go thru the fighting of changing the school mascot from the Demons to whatever other critter they can come up with that starts with a " D ", usually the Dolphins (mind you Dibble is no where near a body of water)......Theory behind this is......Our kids are going to grow up evil or something I guess
(guess that's what happened to me:D ).

Now, keep in mind that I also grew up in this town and I am now 38......Even back then we were going thru this debate on changing the mascot. And every year for as long as I can remember.... it gets shot down again.

Been there, done that, have a couple of new buildings to prove it.

When I was in school, we had a total student popualtion of about 1,000, all in the same building. For years we, the students, campaigned for new elementary school. We finally got it after 6 years of trying, 18 year olds could vote, and our memories were not foggy.

Since then we got a new high school, renovated the original building, and additions to both elementary building that were done to open Fall of '99. This fall, just ten years later, we had all that paid off and converted the bond to put an addition on the high school, and both elementaries again. So you see, yes we were a growing area, and will be once again.

We are the Vikings, so no problem there, although when I graduated, our school colors were blue and gold, but due to the cost of uniforms with the gold on them, they changed it to blue and white.

So for now Central High School has decided they just aren't using the Mascot,
because a warrior could be lots of things:p

just one guy who moved here and finds it offensive.

Speaking of that, are the folks in town get their signs and banners out. We need to let Wewoka know that they have just entered in the Dibble, and the Demons are ready to tackle them. We need lots of support, so get out there and get them going girl.

Hey Kat,

How about some noise makers, the plastic pop bottles with some pennies,ok gravel in them. Use different sizes, and different size gravel, that will make different sounds.

How about tearing up the Sunday funnies into small pieces for confetti. Make it small enough that the rain will dissolve it, don't want the enviormentalist on you back.

Those are just a couple of ideas, let me know what you think.

We have to show these guys that we are behind them 110% of the way. Win or loose, they are still our team, so get out there and let them know that you are proud.

These are the training years, have to keep these kids moving up, to the varsity. Told you this was a building year. At least there is potential out there in Dibble.

Use milk jugs, what ever you can find, just get the noise being made.

I have all the thermoses ready to put the hot chocolate in, lots of marshmallows, and the fire wood loaded for after the snake walk.

This will be a great time, and we will all be revved up for tomorrow's big game.

Spirit week worked yall......and here is a rundown of the game.......
1st half went well with both teams playing hard.....returning score for score....at the end of first half Dibble was up 18-15.

3rd quarter starts and the Tigers answer with another score right off the bat bringing it to 22-18 Tiger favor.

Dibble, not to be outdone on the first home game of the season, answered right back with a touchdown of their own, missing the extra point bringing the score to 24-22 in the Demons favor.

And once again in the beginning of the 4th quarter the Tigers answer back turning the score 29-24 in their favor.

The Demons, with only 5:48 minutes left to play in the game, once again answered back with another touchdown and a two point conversion, making the score
32-29 Demon favor.

In order for the Tigers to win this one, they would have to make a touchdown, but the Demons were able to hold back the Tigers in those last 5:48 minutes and prevented them from scoring again.

The Demons receive the ball back on the last 1:40 minutes of the game and the praying and knee taking starts to run that clock down.

It was a very exciting, sit on the edge of your chair (or not sitting at all) every minute of it game. The stands were alive during the whole game, but you shoulda seen it at the end...EVERYONE was on their feet stompin and clappin, you just knew that those stands were gonna collapse...Just wish I had not forgotten to take the camera and get some pics of this one.

It was another good game Rozzie, cept for a couple of kids getting hurt (not too badly though), but hey, that's the name of the game in football too. The pain goes right along with the game.
