It has been brought up that we do a mystery auction a couple of times a month.

I am wondering how many member would be interested in hosting a mystery auction.

I will set up a blind poll, so that you can vote the way you really feel.

If this is what you want then I will take volunteer sign ups to do the hosting.
I will also set them up, as far as a date and put it in the monthy newsletter.

I will be doing one next week, so you all can see how it is done. Just in case you do not know.

Thanks in advance,
Roz

This is great if folks have some extra cash
and you can get the community to participate.
Give it another try.:D

If I can elaborate on this. I know that there is a worry that everyone will have to have money to buy this box every week but not everyone has items everyone is interested in and thus not everyone has to bid on every box. I believe if given the chance to be done more than once a month, it will be a great success.

Cheers

Robert

AGREED, Robert..PLUS hopefully folks will be looking for Christmas and
Hanukkah, etc. gifts, and will have to spend anyway.

First, I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's fingers. The main reason these boxes succeed so well is that people are looking for gifts for other people and with the deals that can be had with them.

I did a mystery box at one site that was worth over $500.00 and I got a good price of $116.75 and they got a ginormous deal. I do my boxes like this. I'll start out with either $x.xx or "x" number of items and will increase he box for every "x" bids made or $x.xx more in bids.

I did a couple earlier this year and ran them the same way Arcane, I even posted clues as to what it included and gave away points for correct guesses (after the buyer received the box that is) on the items the box would contain.

They are alot of fun to either host or bid on.

There were a couple times I did a small contest for items to be added. I would post a riddle or song lyrics and anyone in the forums could guess and if someone got it right, a set number of items went into the box. Kinda like a competition within a competition.
