hi,
i just signed up and excited about trying something other than ebay. I am doing ok when it comes to posting an item untill I get to description box, i am unable to type, no matter what i do, tab down, import from word etc, I was hoping somebody might know what I need to do to fix this problem.
Anxious but appreciative
Dan:)

Hey Cardguy,
I just left ebay too. Next to the description box you should see a green box. Click on it. A larger window should open. Make sure you are in the preview, not the source format, you'll see those 2 tabs at the top. While in preview, you can select your font color and size, and type what you want. Once finished, click on the source tab, then save, and you should be good to go.

Are you selling sportscards here like me??

Hello Dan,
Are you listing from the site or WAM? They work a little differently so it will help Admin (or other members) answer your question.
Hang in there, Admin is awsome and knows all the techy stuff.
Glad your here and best wishes.

It could be maybe coz im on an IMac? , still have not figured this computer out either lol. When i am trying to put in description, there is no green box on my screen so still completely stuck.
Thanks for all help so far, i will keep trying...

Cardguy,

Are you trying to list from the site, or from WAM?

Have you checked out the new group on the forums for the sports fans?

Hi there Cardguy and a warm welcome to you!! Yes, as Roz says go down to the last thread
and visit Phil's Sports Place!! He prolly would welcome the help in getting it going!!
I don't know about the java script as the only time I ever used was at ebay on my 'me'
page, and it took me forever!
I was ALSO wondering if you are listing from WAM or on-site? If you are using HTML on-site listing you
will need to access that section by clicking on <> above the description and adding (or pasting)
your HTML, you should see all of your code, THEN >>hit APPLY (at bottom) and OK..your template
and all should be there and correct.. There is one really cool thing about this template we have,
is like I had to tweak a few things out ('feebay relate')
and you can do it right ON the ( live in description box template.) I have helped members before
and am off tomorrow, if you wish for me to tweak and work with your template, I will do ONE
for you..If you use, MAC, I am not sure if that works differently..What say you, Admin?
So glad you are here!! Head on over to PHIL'S and stop by the WB Cafe' as well!! WELCOME!!

I am used to using Auctiva. I'll take a look at Sellers Source Book and see what I like.

Joe,
They(SSB) have some templates that would be really nice with your items.
The auciva won't work though.?? If you PM me, You can then email me the template
and tomorrow I will check it out for you, if you want me to.. BTW, does EVERYONE
understand you have to:
1) Click <> above the description box.
2) You MUST hit and hold ctrl>>then hold 'V'
3) THIS will paste your HTML
4) Watch to see HTML code come up
5) At bottom of the editor hit 'APPLY' then OK
6) If you do not see your template, you have not followed all steps

Thanks to all,

Nice to know there are people actually willing to help.
I am no computer guru, obviously, lol. i am just really disturbed that i can not just type in description, it is really really agravating.
I am in main page and then clicking on sell, tried both store and on site etc...
I tried to look for green box, not there, refrsh does not work, pasting does not work.
confusedI apologize to all, just really frustrated and really appreciate help.
thanks for trying but think I am about to give up

Hey again, Dan..
I hope I am understanding your problem. I just did a test auction and of course I don't like
how it looks, :p but I did it with some copy/paste and some typing. It worked. So I don't
understand what is happening. I did this in the REGULAR (NOT the editor) box.

It is here>>

It sounds like Dan's problem is not with the technique of inserting html... But rather the page is not displaying properly for him, which is not allowing him to enter a description.

I have a question for you Dan... After you select where to list (site, auction, or both), what page comes up? Are you able to select categories on step two?

Dan would not be able to use the auction manager, as he is running a Mac. Which the auction manager software is not yet compatable with this system.
