Hello, I'm new here, and was reading what everyone has to say in here. I also have been on ebay for several years, one thing, I know that makes ebay selling, more profitable, is the fact they have groups, those groups have thousands of members, and those members buy from each other.
It would be nice if this site could also have groups, forums that members could set up, for their own use, and be able to set them to either be public or private. I believe this would bring in a lot of others from ebay, as most group leaders over there are also Sellers and Buyers, and they are looking for an alternative site to have their group.
I have a group over there, and have been looking for Months, for another site, that offers selling, buying, and groups. This may not sound like it would increase Sales here, but I assure you it would. A great many of ebay buyers are group members buying from each other, if they didn't have the groups over there, their sales would drop drasticlly, because people would be leaveing that site by the droves.
I'm not saying you want to pull those people over to this site, but after looking at thousands of web sites, and many of those are Sites for Selling, they lack the one thing that would make them stand tall like ebay is. They need groups that people can set up and communicate in, away from the public forum that each site has.
It is food for thought, wouldn't you say ?

Robin,

We actually do have plans for adding groups. Please see the below thread.

Thank you for answering my question, and I look forward to seeing the groups catagory when you have it in place, I also plan to start a group and start inviting my members over to the new group. My ebay group is teaching others how to use PSP (Paintshop Pro). I hope you can have a user friendly format that will allow for backgrounds to be used within the posting areas too.
Ebay use to have a very easy format to use, but they changed it and went with a phpbb type of board, much like you have here, and members found it very distasteful to use after haveing the other type.

Thats even another way they raise their fees, without you even seeing it. Kinda like when you have been buying the same 8 oz cup of yogurt for a year, then one day something is different.. The price is still the same, but the cup is now 7 oz. They take away features that you have, it saves them money but you dont see it.
