I have been in touch with the Office of the District Attorney in Santa Clara, and have the form to file a consumer complaint against eBay. They will investigate the legality of eBay's action that brought me to WeBidz, the setting a minimum price for store inventory items.

I also just got off the phone with an eBay customer support rep, who gave me the "official reason" why eBay set that $1 minimum, and it was 2 pronged.

1) The $1 minimum was done to stop sellers listing items at a low price and then charge excessive S&H.
2) because eBay was finding many items under adollar were poor quality.

I don't buy part 1. Just as they have the ability to suspend a buyer who does not pay, they surely also have the ability to suspend a seller who charges excessive S&H. I told the rep that what they did in my case, was to penalize me, even though my DSR's were all high, and penalized my customers too. I told her I feel that the truth was that eBay simply wanted to get their 12c on the dollar FVF, anything below that was a waste of their time hosting my merchandise. Finally, I asked her if Tommy Hilfiger has the right to tell Macy's what to charge for his sweaters?

It will be interesting to see where the DA goes with this.

Hi Phil, Just a comment, if I may..Our biggest concern is with the ridiculous feedback changes.
Buyer can NEG. you, and you HAVE TO give them POSITIVE. Although we maintain a 100% FB
average, the ONLY Neg. we EVER got was from a NPB!!

Hey lana,

I understand all the ruckus about the FB changes, but I really had no issue with it. If a buyer did not pay, I could not leave a NEG but eBay indicated that once I lodged the NPB complaint, they would be more forceful and stringent in getting rid of the rogue buyers. The $1 minimum affected me as well as many of my buyers. There are way more sportscards valued at under $1 then over, but every player has a fan somewhere. I had a customer who collected cards of Arizona State University alumni who made it to the big league. But many of those cards were worth 25c or less. Ebay closed the door on him and me, that is why I am here, and I am a man of principles, and plan to follow thru on this issue.

Lana! What we would like to see changed here on the feedback is when a person gives a bad feedback or good, that we can leave a comment on that feedback! This way if you get a NPB leave you feedback you can comment on it that this person is a NPB and then others can see that and not worry about buying from you!
Let admin know about this too!

Thanks
John

Oh I so agree..a follow up comment would be really cool you guys!! I have been very hesitant to say
very much at all about the BOYCOTT, but have been quite involved this week. We are even talking
about extending it, and 'yall KNOW we are in..I have been off ebay since Jan 29th and closed everything!
I KNOW a lot of you feel the same way..I am NOT going to have our reputation ruined that we spent over
eight YEARS building..I just WANT to say..they back down or we will NOT.
Please visit http://www.powersellersunite.com (I am on staff) and check out ebay stats..I think you are
going to be AMAZED!!
I do want to say one thing..guys..EVERYONE has to be as patient as possible with regard to sales!! They
are coming, but as MJ can also tell you..we have GOT to be patient. JB & I were SILVER power sellers
and started to work with alternative sites are you ready, in 2004!! Some say they do not sell at alts..well

We quit selling our new items on ebay 6 years ago with over 3200 poss feedbacks there and have been on alternative sites sincew then and have been doing great! The only thing we sell on ebay now when we have it is used items and thats not very ofter maybey 3 or 4 times a year! Sure your sales might not be as high on alternative sites then ebay! But when you figure the bottom $ out after fee's & expenses on ebay, you will be ahead of the game on alternative sites!

Hang in there! It takes time! Sit down in the webidz cafe! Have a cup of coffee! And a sale for you will come sooner then you think!

I am not overly concerned that I have not sold anything yet on WeBidz. After all, my store inventory on the other site fluctuated from 500 items to a high of 1100. With only 47 listed so far, I have a ways to go. However, I do have a goal, and that is to be the #1 seller of sportscards on WeBidz.
