I am somewhat confused. What is the difference between PayPal Direct payments, than the other PayPal payments? Is it best to use the PayPal Direct method, or the other PayPal method? Now, even more confused.
In my auctions, I have set PayPal Direct method as payment method.

What if buyers are not set up on PayPal Direct method? Can they use the other method to pay?

If you wish to answer these questions and don't want to do it here, please E:mail me at:

Sincerely,
Gene10

Paypal direct pay and google direct pay lets your buyers pay you directly from the WeBidz site, as there would be a pay now button automatically created after the sale. Most buyers prefer this, as they do not have to wait for you (the seller) to invoice them. Buyers do not have to be set up with the direct pay option, as this is just an integration option for sellers to make it easier on buyers.

As a seller, I personally do NOT usually choose the pay direct pay option,
as MANY new users will pay each item separetely anyway, and it cost us
extra paypal fees, and also because we need to give them a combined shipping
rate. MANY times, we make multiple or LOT sales.

If you are a seller that is timely in sending invoices, then it would most likely be fine. We get some buyers that get very frustrated when there is no "pay now" option, and the seller takes 3-4 days to send them an invoice.

If you prefer to not use direct pay that is fine, just do your best to invoice in a timely manner. By making buying a hassle free experience, they will be more likely to return and shop again. The auction manager will make it very easy to combine invoices and include a pay now button in your invoices.

It is also good to detail in your auction or "shipping and payment details", what your procedure is for invoicing. Not all buyers read everything, but it will help those that do.

Even when we are working, we invoice, or combine invioces, the same day...
(UNLESS) the buyer request extra time. We got burned (BADLY) on eba* not too
long ago when a NEW buyer, paid for TEN tiny items ALL separate!! :(

I thought our system automatically included items together from the same buyer, but maybe I am wrong (it used to be this way before our recent update). I will need to check into this further. I know our system does not provide reduced shipping automatically though.

I choose both ways (direct pay and the invoicing way), thinking that this gives the buyer a choice. Am I right? If not I need to know so I can change my auctions.

Thank you,
cim

Cim,

In my opinion, this is the best way. But each seller has their own techniques that work best for them. We just want to ensure that sellers are connecting with their buyers in a timely manner, as this is one of the biggest complaints we get from buyers on the site. This is no reflection of you or your account, I just like to emphasize this as much as possible.

Hi Cim,
I think that probably is the BEST way, as well!! You go!! :D

Oh, good. I always try to do the best for my customers and letting them make a choice is one of the ways I do that.

Thank you for the reassurance I need that sometimes especially when things are slow.

Ok I'm new to Webidz but have used Ebay for years. Trying to create my 1st template so I can start listing but always get the following error. "The fild templates_items.pd_paypal_direct cannot contain a Null value because the required property for this field is set to true. Enter a value in this field." Also where do you indicate the email address for the PayPal payment.

Shoz,

I have checked into this, and have been able to reproduce this issue. I have sent to our programmers, so they can provide resolution. Your paypal address would be entered on the site, in the members area. Click my account>>manage account in the members area, scroll to the bottom of the page and update your direct pay settings and save.

Temporary resolution for template issue: Create a new auction with all your template settings, then save as an auction (not a template). Now open the auction you just saved, then save as template. This would now be saved in your templates, with a title of what you entered for your auction title.

When this update and other updates are completed, your software should automatically prompt you to update. We recommend that you always complete updates when prompted.

Please let us know if you need any additional assistance.

This template issue has been resolved, please see below for update instructions.

STEPS TO COMPLETE UPDATE:

1) Check for updates within your auction manager program. (should work for most)

Depending on how long ago you initially installed the program, you may need to complete one of the below steps if problems persist.

http://www.webidz.com/downloads/auction_manager.zip (http://www.webidz.com/downloads/auction_manager.zip)

2) Download the newest version, and extract the files to your desktop. Execute the setup.exe program and choose "repair" from the options given. Then complete the install/repair process. When install/repair is completed, you can delete the auction_manager.zip file that you downloaded, and the WeBidz Auction Manager folder that you extracted from the zip file.

If this does not work for you, you can try the below method.

3) Uninstall the auction manager program. Then navigate to and delete the "WeBidz Auction Manager" folder, which should remove the folder and all its contents. The default path to this folder is "C:\Program Files\WeBidz Auction Manager", where "C" is your hard drive. NOTE: Be sure to uninstall from your computers add/remove programs before deleting this folder.

Download the newest version and extract the files to your desktop. Execute the setup.exe program to start the install. When install is completed, you can delete the auction_manager.zip file that you downloaded, and the WeBidz Auction Manager folder that you extracted from the zip file.

Hi, I'm a new member and I hope I'm entering this forum correctly as I have never used them before. I am also confused about the PayPal direct. Now that I have read the explanation I understand but I still have a question. I have a web site and still have a few items left on Ebay. I have entered the "callback URL" in my PayPal account as instructed. Will this affect my other web site or is the URL just for Webidz? I never turned on that feature in PayPal for my other site.

Nt..I sure wish I could help, but don't want to answer you incorrectly. Admin will probably be
in soon and he will know the answers. In the
mean time..welcome and just want to say 'hello' :D

That callback url will receive notification for payments received. If it is a payment for something other than a WeBidz payment, it will not be recognized and nothing will be entered or retained by WeBidz. So the answer is no, it will not affect any of your other payments.

Thanks Admin for a quick answer. Now I won't be afraid to list my products. I really like the look and feel of Webidz, it's a refreshing change from ebay.
