Downloaded auction manager and get the same error on both of my Windows XP machines.
Download zip and extract to folder. Run setup. Installer begins and then generates error:
InstallUtilLib.dll:ClrCreateManagedInstance (hr=0x80004005): Unspecified error
I have removed and re-downloaded no fewer than five times and in each instance I get this error during install. Version shows to be 1.49.

On the error when you get it, can you just click the ok button on the error and it will keep going?
When you delete everything, make sure you delete it under your c program files too! Then download it again! Then it will give you a folder, open it then unzip! After unzip click on set up!

egift,
I am not familiar with this error. I am going to forward to our programmers, so they can look into this further.

When you click OK, it closer the installer and you cannot do anything. I will try the delete everything and try again approach recommended by admin.

I run a xp and i got that same error once so i deleted everything and reloaded it and got it! It is VERY important that you get all the old WAM off the pc before you load again! Delete in the c files, Temp files ect! Dump your trash!
Let me know if this helps!

Unless I missed something, and I don't know what it would be, this is simply not working. I tried installing it from within c:\program files\WAM 1.49 to see what files were added and a few flashed for a second and then disappeared once the error showed.
I also uninstalled eBay Turbo Lister just in case some fo the database links overlap. No dice.
It almost seems as though not all of the installation files are downloading. In fact, except for some Microsoft files, the Setup is the only file that downloads. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

When you download there will be 1 folder to open! Then you click on there and i believe about 4 files will show, then extract those files! Once you extract those files, then you can delete the 1st folder they came in as you will not need it! Then go to werever they extracted to and click on setup exe

I appreciate your help, but unfortunately, this isn't my first rodeo. There is an incompatibility with my system somewhere and I've just got to find it. It isn't something simple like "did you plug it in?".
In the for what its worth category, Ziing.com uses the same basic auction engine as here and their bulk lister program works without a hitch. And I found and downloaded it after having problems here, so there isn't a cause and effect thing going on.
wonder if that bulk lister would work here...a lot smaller program too.

I'm running a xp pro and it loaded great on here just 2 days ago! Where i had trouble was with the win98 before this pc! Before the win 98 we had a xp home and it worked good on there too!
Maybe admin will find something out on that error you had tomorrow from the programmers!
Good luck!

I also think it is some sort of compatability issue... Once our programmers are able to look into it fully, hopefully it will be something we can change on our end. If it only happened on one PC, there would be more room for doubt... But happening on two PC's is a strong indication of a compatability issue, which I would think we could provide resolution.
We used to have a simply bulk upload tool, but functionality was not very good. It also was fairly difficult to learn and use properly.

M&J I am so glad you covered that again about removal..I think ADMIN posted a response on that
way back in Jan. I had not done that correctly either, on my new XP-7-PRO.
It will 'mess' it up (if not done correctly)! !! Thanks!! :D

Actually, the removal of files after uninstall should be a thing of the past now. Previous versions (I believe 1.4.7 and before), left files behind that could make future versions problematic. But all should be removed with current versions.
We really appreciate all our members patience with this auction manager program. It will eventually be the best auction management software solution. But as many have found, there have been quite a few bumps in the road.

I have received the below response back from our programmers:
This sounds like an incompatibility of installer with CLR. To resolve this issue please try below:
*Uninstall .NET framework (machines will most likely have framework 1.0 or framework 1.1) and then run auction manager installer, which will also reinstall an updated framework version.
