Memorable Sporting events

This thread is about a memorable sporting event you have actually been at. For me, there have been several but this one is the cream for me. In Australia, I was a huge fan of the St. George rugby league team that won an incredible 11 Grand Finals (Super Bowls) in a row, back in the 50's and 60's. I was only allowed to start going to games, because of my age, after the streak was snapped. After attending 2 Grand Finals in which they lost, in 1979 I was finally at the 1979 Grand Final to see them win for the 1st time since that streak. The Mighty Saints as they are known, or Dragons, went into the halftime break with a commanding 17-2 lead and it looked all over. But the Canterbury Bulldogs came roaring back in the 2nd half and got within 4 points. But the final score was a 17-13 win to the Saints, and many of us in the Dragons army of fans shed tears of joy. That night back at the St. George Leagues Club, I can't begin to imagine how much beer we drank, how many songs we sang, and how loud we roared when the team arrived.
