Admin WAM is realy slow all day as we were trying to list new items and finaly gave up on it
Is WAM always hooked to your server even when we are just working in it editing or doing new items?
I know when we do a new one and click save it takes forever to save! If we click to edit one, it takes forever to come on to edit!
Thanks

I got ours faster now too! We took off all our active items and it speeded wright up! I guess to many items in WAM will slow it up!
Thanks

mj,
Do you have a lot of ended items in the auction manager? If so, we would recommend removing ended items and compacting the database. Depending on your system resources, it could slow down significantly if your local database becomes too large. We have had over 10k auctions in the auction manager without having any issues, but this pc has 3gb of ram. So basically the less ram you have available, the less items it would take to slow down various executions.

Didn't have no closed auctions at all! Just my inventory! What i did was delete all my active auctions off there and just using it for new and it runs fast now

I just checked your amount of active auctions and there is only a little over 2,500. This amount should not slow it down that much, unless maybe you are really low on ram... Have you tried compacting the database, from the file menu in wam? When you delete auctions from the auction manager, they are removed from your local database, but the database size stays the same. When compacting the database you are removing all the empty slots where auctions used to be, thus reducing the size of the database and increasing performance.
This process will most likely be automated in the future... But it currently has to be done manually by the user.

Nope! !st i heard about that compacking! I was just happy to get it working faster when i deleted the active auctions! See i had 2500 active about on the site but when i deleted the active auctions only in wam it said i had over 2700! Plus i have that cvs download on there yet to list so thats a total of 5200 items that were on there! Have you guys had a chance to add Country on your cvs yet so then i won't have to edit 1 at a time to put country in!

Compacting usually only takes a few seconds, so your database must have been quite large. You should see a significant increase in speed now.
I just talked with the programmers and they are not expecting the next release until Thursday, and the country/state/zip issue should be addressed in this release. Among many others, they are also addressing the upload issue stalling for large uploads.

I tested it doing just country and it worked fine so you won't even need the city or zip in it!
Thanks

Functionality wise, it may need only the country... But to work correctly, it needs all three.
