Excellent question! What about Antique Weapons like a Jamestown Black Powder Long Rifle (Kentucky Style)? What about Black Americana Items? They say Opra and Bill Cosby are two of Americas biggest collectors. This stuff sells and if you avoid reproductions can be quite valuable.

I used to sell African American collectibles at ebay..My goodness is there a LOT of reproductions!
We also collect vintage Black Americana, We do not like the new, as it has damaged the market for/on
the old. I am not sure myself just what is or is not allowed. I am quite sure MOST historical is allowed.
We collected it for one reason..we LOVE it..:) and respect it. We have a huge amount of authentic AA
'Mammy' items in our kitchen, that have gone down in value greatly because of the repros..We have
collected and bought our items at stores and shows for 35 years..It hurts to see it devalued.:(
We are Caucasian.(not that it matters):D

I looked but could not find a list. I think however that it would be impossible for Admin to cover every single thing that would be prohibited. The seller should know their items and do some digging on if it would be permitted. I think the general list would be roughly the same for all auction sites. But maybe that general list is something that Admin could add into the FAQ section.

Just curious, why do you think the real items have lost value? Do you think it solely due to reproductions or because so much has shown up since ebay? I understand how someone new may be afraid to buy not knowing if it is real or not. You for one should not be afraid and know when you see a repro. As I am sure you realize these things are so collected up that is getting rare to see the real thing anymore. If you are seeing lower values is it because the economy is so bad? Are people around you letting good items go cheap because they need moeny?
I ask a bunch of questions but now want to offer one piece of meat to chew on, I warn it may be tough! As a collector and as a dealer from the past who has watched ebay from the beginning, I watched many cycles. The worst of which was the one Lana mentioned. Things once thought rare - no longer rare due to the internet. Now everyone questions rarety. I have seen Occupied Japan items drop like a rock in the last little while. Suddenly now everyone thinks it has no value. Yes I know about the rubber stamp thing and have seen them in auctions too many times. My point is this, a collector hones his or her craft to as close to perfection as possible. A collector always tries to get the lowest price possible. If you have good items and you sell them cheap - too cheap, who won? It was not the seller was it! Now here it is - we are on the threshhold of a new beginning, ebay is changing. People selling collectables are now scattering. I am seeing more and more going back to malls and shops. Prices are on the rise again, smart sellers will realize this. I am saying hang on, you will see a change. I know I got a little off track here but Lana brought up questions.

If an item is illegal, contains pornography or hate related material, it would not be allowed on WeBidz. There are other listing policies that are being developed over time, as specific questions or issues arise. You can view these at the below url, which is in our FAQ pages.
