I am writing about my auction 1476045. In previous threads we had discussed how an item listed as store only could not be edited to appear in both, site and store. You had said I would need to go back to WAM, find the original auction pre upload, edit it there, and then upload it as a new auction. We had also discussed that when auctions are relisted, the view counter starts again at zero. OK, let's look at 1476045. I had originally uploaded it to appear as store only. It ended yesterday and I re uploaded it from WAM after editing it to appear in both. But lo and behold, it retained the same auction number and the views "6" carried over as well. Am I confused now? You betcha.

Wow is all I can say. I guess there's alot of difference in listing from the site (as I do) and listing from WAM. All I can say is that when mine are relisting the counter goes back to zero. I am always clicking both when listing so nothing to edit on that part.

When an item is auto relisted, the counter does go back to zero and the auction gets allocated a new number. You being able to re-open a closed auction from the auction manager sounds like a bug or programming error, as this was not designed to work this way. To list another auction from the auction manager, you should have to use copy/paste. We will need to check into this further, and provide a fix.

I did not use copy/paste. I simply went to WAM and went to the active listings. Edited the one in question and then put it in the waiting to upload area. Created about a dozen more new auctions and added them to waiting to upload. Once 1476045 had closed, I uploaded all the items in waiting to upload. The result was instead of a brand new auction appearing with the modifications to 1476045, it simply relisted it with the modifications and the views intact.

Editing or modifying closed auctions from the auction manager should not affect the auction on the site in any way. But this is evidently not the case at this time. You would need to use the copy/paste feature to create an auction with a new number.

I wasn't really concerned about whether it got a new number or not, I just wanted it to apper in both my store and on the site. And since I cannot do that edit on the site, I had to go back to WAM, find the original version that i had created and modify it there. Once modified, then I uploaded it fully expecting to see it with a new number and zero views. That was the anomaly, nothing to do with copy/paste etc.
