I know it doesn't cost anything to post a basic listing on webidz, but when the item does sell, how much of a percentage does the site take, if anything? I'm worried it might be more than what ebay takes out, since they don't charge to post items, but I couldn't find this topic in their FAQ's. Does anyone have the answer to this?

Also, is there a payment option accepted on webidz that takes out less of your money than PayPal when someone sends you money, or is it better to just use PayPal, since it is more accepted and well-known by the general population?

Welcome to Webidz rjo,
There are no fvfs. Your sale is your money. The only fees you will have are if you open more than the basic store, and if you do upgrades on your listings. Those fees are very minimal and are listed as you go along on a listing.
The payment sources are really up to you. There are several to choose from ranging from paypal to money orders to checks. Alot are looking into google and revolution money exchange to get away from paypal. Google does charge like paypal, Uncle would know more about revolution money exchange. Should you have any more questions, please feel free to come back and post.

Thanks for all the info. I'll definitely be coming to sell and buy here. eBay is absolutely terrible these days, so I've been looking for a good alternative. Now I've found one.

Revolution Money Exchange is fee free to the buyer and seller. Only requires a checking account to deposit your money into. Good way to promote you items now because they are paying $25.00 to open a new account - paypal also paid when they first started. Google Teds Take to learn more about who is behind it and where it is going. Sure beats paying all those fees!:D

No prob, Unc..:DWe have been talking about it on all the boards. Perhaps RME will
continue the promo, but as off right now, it ends on March 30, 2008..so folks join
up! Most of us can send you a referral if you want one. I am only sending to folks
that ask, as I do not wish to spam anyone.

jay,

You can just choose revolution money as an offline payment option while listing your items. You would then have to invoice customers from their site after the sale. We do not have revolution money set up as a direct pay option at this time, as they currently do not provide the needed data. We are working with them to try to get this implemented soon, but we cannot give any timeframe for completion.
