Let's be patient and be positive. There will be bidding, and there will be sales. Gas price is taking a big chunk out of people's pocket this day. Our economy is in a very bad shape as we all know. I think we sellers should start bidding on other sellers items to help make some sales. Good luck to all sellers. :)
Thank you, and have a good day.

I made the decision to list here after researching this site thoroughly. I had tried for many years to come here just because I liked the site and the owner, but never had time to get it done.
After closing my eBay store and joining in on the eBay boycott, I looked around for alternatives to support. I researched a bunch of them. Over the last few years I've listed on dozens of them. WeBidz has been the most stable, most steadily growing site of all of them.
I'm here to stay and I'm loading my store as quickly as time allows.
Several of us have posted ways to promote your store here in the forums.
*Make a squidoo page about what you sell and promote that.
*Join yahoo groups about auctions, etc and promote your listings there.
*Request an RSS feed and learn how to promote using that.
*Have banners made for your store and submit them to banner and traffic exchanges; let EVERYONE know we're here.
*Be sure you have your store link in your email signature so everyone sees it when they get your email.
*Start a blog here and post about what you're selling, post ideas, tips, etc that go with what you're selling. The search engines will pick it up.
Need more ideas?
Sales come to those who help themselves. The site owner works hard to get the site out there and bring traffic, but we also bear a responsibility to promote our own business.
Hope this helps & if you have questions or need more help - shout out. Peeps here are real helpful!
sylvia
I had stores on other sites as well. Still do with some. As Sylvia said, we have to be proactive here with our own stores in order to keep the fees low or non-existent. She and others are great at sharing how and where to do this. My experience is that this site is the most stable one out there as well. Most processes work well with acceptable speed. If I find that it doesn't work the way I expected it too, I let the administration know and they work hard to explain it or adjust the situation. The big thing for me is that most things work well and we all seem to get cooperation from the site admins and each other. Good luck with your process. I have learned to list and learn from those who are successful on this venue. :)

Reason Joyland only has 1 feedback from April is because he quit this site and just came back the other day! This site can't be bad if he came back!

WOW! That's good news bama!!! Congratulations! :D We just gotta make sure peeps know we're here is all. Just like a B & M store in a way. You don't just open the door and way for folks to come in. And you don't expect the mall owner to do your specific advertising for you. They promote the mall, you promote you. We all win! ;)

I keep having trouble with BAD Sellers. Can't figure out why someone would go through all the trouble of listing, and then not follow through???? Several times have had non-paying bidders also, wonder
Noooo, I won't say it...... just wondering.....

DiMora,
I am sorry to hear that you have been having problems. This does not look good for the site, so please take time to open a new ticket for each situation. Admin does not take either of these problems lightly. He doesn't know that there are problems, unless we report them. So please let him know here: http://helpdesk.webidz.com/. You can find this link by clicking "contact us" at the bottom of any page.
Again sorry for your troubles, thanks for reporting them,

(Almost! so tempting)
Here we go again. M-J Trading got it all wrong again. Yes, I was away, but did not quit. The reason why I have 1 feedback was because I had SIX sales and FIVE non-paying-bidders. I was very frustrated and decided to take a short break. Wouldn't you be frustrated M-J Trading? I bet you would.
The reasons why we are all here is to sell our items. It is always a big joy when you sell an item. Buy, your joy turned to anger and frustrations when buyers did not pay for the items they bought from you. And then you have some people breathing on your neck to discredit you.

Joy,
We are glad to have you back. Although mj can be a little abrupt at times, I think his statement was more to let the other seller know the reason for the low feedback, and not put you down. At least that is the way I read it...
Everyone has the right to leave or take a break if they want to, and we don't want them to feel bad in coming back. So regardless of your reasons, we are glad to see you around. We do ask that sellers try to remain as professional as possible, as you are all in the forefront in regards to buyers perception of the site. When sellers are at each others throats, buyers see this as a negative factor. So this is something we try to discourage as much as possible. We understand that sometimes personalities clash, or some sellers do not agree with other sellers... we just ask that sellers keep such conflicts to a minimum. We do our best to not take sides, but we will lock threads or remove posts if things get too out of hand.
Regarding non paying bidders: We do not take this lightly, and we ban/block such buyers all the time. We need help from sellers in reporting these though. A one time report of a non paying bidder will usually not get that bidder removed, as we do allow a few days after we contact them, for them to complete the purchase. We usually do not know if the buyer followed through after our contact, unless the seller updates the ticket per the instructions in the non paying bidder message. So if a seller fails to update the ticket that the buyer is still failing to respond after our contact, we have to assume the buyer is complying with the purchase.

I bought and sold a few items in the first month of me being here. I am sure that some body is buying or there would not be new sold items on the home page. I have no bids right now but I have items on ebay to and have no bids there either.
I sell a variety of items including DVD's and fine Genuine Jewelry. I have sold a lot in the past three weeks but have no bids right now.
Maybe that will change we get 20-40 new members a day and at a growth rate like that I am happy.

For all who are worried about no sales well remember this is a bad time all over, Just keep listing and promoting your store where ever you can , Facebook , Myspace, ect... and also you can make up flyers or buisness cards, hand them out leave them all over ect...I was suppose to make a bumper sticker never got around to it , but I will soon, That is another way to promote, We all have to put some imagination into this , get the word out , we are here and we are better than all the others !!!

I just keep listing and hoping that I will have something someone wants....
Also the Gift Certificates I give brings a lot of people here and hoping they stick around
and look at everyones stores..
That was the idea get them here and hope to make buyers for all of the Webidz Sellers.
Maybe even get some new Buyer/Sellers as well. I do try everything I can think of.
I even added a little incentive to the Winter Festival Buying Contest in the Promotions Thread.
It is little things that can prompt buying and selling. I will even be browsing the stores myself
to see what is out there and I know finding something I need or want will not be hard.
I wish it started last week because my Dad bought a couple pricey items on my account from
another seller here. He was wanting a new Watch forever. The Diamond Cross he bought was
very nice too.
Kind a scary from a new seller but he was a wonderful Seller and shipping was fast so I can't
complain. All I can do is say thank you Dad@Sons Treasure Chest for making my Dad a believer
you can buy expensive items online and it work out.

Have you looked at the home page on the right and see all the items being sold??
Sellers need to realize that the other sitehas been there a while! You can't expect to go to a newer auction site and sell a bunch the first month or two! Common since tells you that! Sure you might be doing good over there! But what is your profit after your done paying all them fee's?
It is a pretty bad deal when that site (bay) make more on the item you sold then you do!!!
If you sellers are going to make it good,
#1-you need to have patients
#2-Look at your bottom line profit from all the sites your on! Not just a weeks worth but at least 6 months worth of selling!
When we left the bay over 6 yrs ago about a year before we left we went on other sites. After 6 months we took and looked at what kind of profit did we make on each site! Sure the items sold were alot more at the bay, but when we started figuring all the fees ect off we had a bigger profit off another auction site and we only sold around half the items on that site then we did on the bay!
So what it comes down to folks! WHY GIVE YOUR ITEMS AWAY!!

Silver, Your sounding a little discouraged, but remember all good things take time. How long did it take to get your first sale on any other site? And then your second?? Third??
Like MJ said,.... "a few small sales here equal a better bottom line," and I've noticed that sales seem to be coming back.
January is always a down time. (Christmas, higher utilities ect.)
I always use it to re-access my marketing, pricing, maybe check out some new advertizing, contact existing customers offer them a discount, make a list and start thinking of what you can do next. You've taken the first step, nowww the next.......
A small effort now can make a big difference later. You can dramatically increase the effectiveness of your actions simply by taking them sooner.
As you go through the moments of this day, you are creating many of the circumstances in which you will live tomorrow. A few small, positive actions right now can bring great value as you move forward.
You cannot change where you already are. Yet you can have a significant and dramatic effect on where you will soon be.
Live this moment with joy, with purpose and with passion. And use this moment to inject into your life and your world the kind of substance and value that can last a lifetime.
You cannot instantly change your circumstances. You can, however, instantly change the direction in which you're headed.
Point yourself firmly and resolutely in the direction of your dreams. For where you choose right now to go, is where you will soon be.

This site is going to continue to grow because people like us will see to that. With each new seller comes a new wealth of items available here and a new buyer. With each new buyer comes a wealth of opportunities that are unique to us as members of the webidz community, friends. I have made more friends here on webidz since I joined on January 11 than I have in my three years on the other site. My view, currently I am looking for a game system. Where to shop..where to shop..decision is easy..go where you are the most comfortable, where your friends are, go with your comfort zone. In my case, webidz. Better to buy from one you know than one you don't, a very famous philospher said that.

Don't give up hope too soon. "You know who", didn't explode overnight. I am new here too, and have yet to make my first sale, but as mentioned, times are tough right now and people are making careful purchases.
