item 1556976 - emailed that it closed. It is not closed, just listed today. Don't know if that is a problem, just thought you should know.

There have actually been some changes lately, to the way items relist. So this item did relist, just with the same auction number. Auctions without bids now relist with the same number. Auctions with bids that do not meet the reserve, or dutch auctions that have had sales (but have quantity remaining), will relist with new auction numbers.
We are changing this for quite a few reasons:
1) Resolves a relist issue that we have been experiencing lately.
2) Easier to work with the auction manager, as you will not have a revolving inventory. So there will now be no need to update inventory every time you want to edit auctions. Also your local database will not get huge when you update your inventory a few times.
3) Once your item gets indexed by the search engine, it will always be indexed. Instead of relisting with a new auction number that is not indexed.
4) This will allow better performance with the site database, as there will not be a pile up of new auctions that are relisted. It is the same item, might as well use minimal resources for it.
Please feel free to give us comments if you wish.

We are glad you guys like... We think this will be much better for all. Over the next few days we will be screening through all auctions, and removing those that we can tell are duplicates. Sometimes it is hard for us to tell if an item is a duplicate, in which cases we will not remove. So it may be good for sellers to glance through their auctions real quick to ensure all are valid. If anybody has quite a few duplicates, please report to us in a ticket, and we will take care of removing for you.

How about if there duplicates iterms but are in differan catregories?
Or if the seller wanted to have a couple of duplicates in the auction site?

What about duplicates that we just have (many) of? I know
we can show as dutch, but I like them to show up on different pages in my store.
Thanks Admin!! :D

We are not going to remove duplicates that users may have of a particular aution. We are only going to remove duplicates that we know are our fault. So if there is an auction that has five exactly the same, all listed within a few seconds, chances are they are listings that resulted from the bugs we just fixed. If those five were manually listed, they would be spread out over at least a couple minutes. If we are not sure, we will not remove. So there will be some that we miss. But we would rather miss some than end auctions that we should not be removing.

That's what were getting at to Lan! We have alot of duplicates but there in differant catogories or set up to sell differant like a 4 week sale, 1 week sale, buy it now ect! If you can Admin, PLEASE don't do ours! I'm sure other bigger sellers do the same as we do! As we can get our hands on many of the same items!
Thanks

mj,
I am aware that you have duplicates, but have yet to find any that meet our relist glitch criteria. You have like 2-3 of many of your items, but they are listed at different times or formats. So don't be afraid that we are going to end your items because you have a few of each. If I see 5,10 or 20 of the same item listed at the same exact time, then we would look at each and distinguish which are relisted.
We are pretty good at distinguishing which are valid and which are not. Like I said, if we have question, we would not end any.
