The type initializer for 'PHP_Probid.Dal.my Sql Helper' threw an exception
Any ideas how to correct this????

Dear kids2adults2,

It has been so hectic around here; I see that you didn’t get an answer to your question.

After I lost 26 new listings, I panicked and tried to download what I had left to my WAM. However, I did an upgrade instead of loading a new copy of the 2.05 version and that is when the error message appeared...the same one you had.

I found Joe’s (rnrgiftsnmore) instructions and was able to fix it on my own. Even though I had previously loaded the WAM 1.49 version, I never used it so I didn’t need to make a back-up copy of my files but what I did do, was leave the old version on my machine under the WAM 1.49 folder and loaded the new WAM 2.05 and created a new folder for it. From what I can tell, it seems to be working fine.

Here is the link to Joe’s instructions, http://community.webidz.com/showthread.php?t=5004
take a look and if you still need help, post another note, I will be on-line all day.

Regards,
Miriam

We are very sorry that your questions have yet to be answered. As Miriam has stated, things have been very hectic lately, and we have been struggling to play catch up. The error you report sounds like a 1.49 to 2.05 update issue. I thought the auto update was turned off for this reason, but I may be wrong. The best resolution for this is to uninstall 1.49, then download and install v2.05. This should resolve this issue. If you have any questions or further problems, please let us know. Hopefully we will be quicker in a response next time.

Thanks to both of you for the great information. I did end up uninstalling the 1.49 and then download and install the 2.05 which is working fine. Hopefully if there's another loss of auctions I'll be able to reload them.

I do appreciate your advice

We should never have such a loss again, but this would definitely give you assurance that you will never loose any of your auctions again.

Because of the issues with 2.05 prior to the Great Crash, I never downloaded it but kept using my 1.49 with no problems. it did prompt me that there was a new version whenever I opened WAM, but the prompt does not appeasr anymore. At this point, I am quite content working with 1.49 and will continue to do so until Admin gives a green light that it is safe to download the new version.

Phil,

v2.05 is good to go, but we do NOT recommend doing an auto update from 1.49 to 2.05. Completing an auto update from 1.49 to 2.05 will most likely lead to issues. We would recommend backing up data in 1.49, then uninstalling and completing a fresh install of 2.05, then restoring data from your backup. There were some major structural and functionality changes, which are causing such issues on most auto updates.

Okay help me with this one Admin,,,,,,,
I downloaded v2.05 (did not delete v1.48)
Unzipped contents......
there are 2 setups....
one just says setup(has a pic of a box next to it)
one says setup windows installer package(has a pic of a little comp screen and disc next to it)
Neither one says setup.exe
Click on either one and this is what I get.......
run.....then "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2356."
Please advise what to do.....i have deleted the v2.05 but still retain the v1.48.

Kat,

Are you saying that the 1.48 version is still installed? If so, this is most likely the issue. You would want to completely uninstall previous versions (1.48), then install the new version (2.05).

There are two setup files... One is a windows installer package(shows computer screen with a cd), and the other is an application(shows open box with a cd). Execute the application file and complete install.
