I think that those of us who have this concern should lead by example!!! At least put some bids down to help generate activity. I also wonder if putting up items that could serve as loss leaders might draw more traffic. We need to work together!!!!!:)

I agree with you guys but as I noticed that even the first reply took about a month, and mine 2 months. Maybe as with myself there maybe others who not only don't know about these post and bulletins that are helpful , also many may not know about this site. I'm tring it out because i really would like to stay away from ebay, although I have bought and sold items there. But I am getting discouraged about continuing using that site. I must say that i do like this one, and i hope it stays modest but needs to become more active, for all buyers and seller. I will try to do my part, by purchasing some items and i hope that it will help.
good luck to all

Jay, I just joined the site this month. I too have an account with Ebay, and it also took a bit to sell something there. On this site, I think the problem lies with not many people knowing it exists. So spread the word to all that you know who shop online places like Ebay. This site is growing by the numbers every day. Wonder if we could contact any buyers we have/had at Ebay and let them know about this site?? Might be worth a try to get buyers here.

Kathy, thanks for the reply was begining to think no one would go back to these post. anyway I am in the process on spreading the word about this site. I just hope that it does not become like ebay you know with the ridiculous prices. I do have a feeling that sellers will come to this site once they find out because ebay just changed there listing and final value fees. It will be more difficult to make any profit with the new changes, but it seems that most are already pricing their items at about retail prices. well i hope you will do well here. have a good day.

I'm still transfering auctions over and by the 20th plan to be done, then will send an email to all my customers and let them know I moved. The homepage on the right side shows recent sales, and yes it needs to pickup. You transplants from ebay that are powersellers have a huge client base to work with. Get email to those folks, together we can get this done. Those of you that sell on other sites other than ebay cross promote if you can get away with it.Be a star...;)

I have been here since the first part of January in an attempt to run from ?? (you know)! I have been very busy and have not kept my store where it needs to be, but am going to start adding things this week. Bidding does seem a little slow, but on the low cost sites, we as sellers have to do some advertising of our own! Every e-mail I send to friends and family have a site link at the bottom with the logo. These get sent out over and over again. FREE ADVERTISING!! Also begin collecting email addresses from past customers via paypal and start sending out newsletters stating that you are now listing on this site. I have been working diligently on this and have had some great feedback so far. :D With all the changes over there new sellers will come and so will buyers! I also joined PowerSellersUnite and they have lots of great ideas on how to promote your stores. A lot of FREE hints and tips! (love free) I do want to get the banner with my store link if possible! Hi Oldhottie,
I sent out an email to over 500 of my customers from the other site and 2 people wrote me back already to say "Thanks!" and that they do not want to shop there anymore an would come register and look around.
You can get download every single transaction you've had from paypal into an Excel file and paste the email addresses into an email. I talked about it on the Webidz seller's area.

:D You go girl! As I mentioned I too have been working on sending out the emails. Folks just need to know where we are bringing our goods to. I don't think they care which place you are listing, if they have made purchases from you and trust you...well that is a great thing! Have a great day:) Diana

Customers do buy but this site doesn't have the traffic larger auction sites may have. I have dealt with other auction sites like Ebay but I am now trying to stay away. I am getting bids but no one seems to make serious bids. It seems the most anyone wants to put up is $10. I did get my first sale two days ago but I am still waiting on the buyer to finalize payments. In time this site will grow. Just keep the prices reasonable.

Hello everyone. I just discovered this website a couple days ago while looking for a specific product and doing an AOL search. I have not bid on anything because I have asked the seller a question about shipping for two days in a row and they will not respond. I'm an old dog and it is difficult to teach me new tricks but I have had difficulty navigating through this site and figuring out what all the terms mean. I know the more I'm here, the more I will learn but when the sellers are non-responsive to questions, it makes it easy for me to just give up on this website and go elsewhere. Are they any kind of rules about responding to questions? How can sellers expect to sell anything if they do not monitor their listings and help their potential customers? It makes me wonder about the whole transaction, will they be this slow to ship the item if I do purchase it. Any suggestions from those of you more experienced with this site? Thanks to all and have a great day!:

HI Mars and Welcome to Webidz. When I search for items and I find one that I am interested in, I click on the sellers name. That takes me to their profile page. Up in the right just under their status bar(newbie, member) it tells me the last time that seller was active on the site. I have noticed that even though the listing says it's a new listing (e.g. start date saying 2-18), it could be that it's cycleing on a relist. I always check out a potential sellers activity. I kinda actually like that feature on this site. Hope this helps in letting you know if you will get a response from your seller or if they are not very active and you can move on in your search.

Although we like sellers to respond within 24 hours to pre/post-sale questions, after the sale invoicing, and shipping of merchandise... They are allowed up to 72 business hours before being in violation of site policy. Should you ever have a seller that fails to respond within this period, please feel free to open a ticket at the below url. Sellers that receive multiple such complaints are usually suspended. We do not suspend members at the drop of a hat, but we do expect sellers to maintain a certain level of professionalism.

I just got done visiting the boards at feebay. Many sellers are planning way to entice their buyer to follow them, offering discount free shipping and such. Many o fth e are keeping the status quo until May when the big changes come. nad using this boycott time to move to other site, many will have multiple sites. We need to see that WeBidz of one of them. So I think we may see some increase in May.

A couple of weeks ago, we got a phone call, from a live person with no foreign accent, asking us why were not listing any more auctions. When I told them we left, because there was no customer service or customer support. I was told to go to the community area for help given by long time E-bayers. I read quite a few of the replies and felt that the folks there were not extremely helpful. Some were downright rude.
Caller seemed not very surprised by that.
Anyway, I found Webidz back in early Dec, '07, and haven't left. I guess that you can say I found a home, that feels comfy for me. Very good customer service, and excellent customer support.
Just my 2 cents worth....

I agree, WeBidz does feel more comfy, tech support is better, but the bottom line is sales. I would really like to start getting some. Have sent out over 200 emails to my old ebay customers but no bites yet. Maybe once I do get that 1st sale, things will start to look better, cause as we all know, unless potential buyers see large credibility numbers, they may be hesitant. Repatoo helps but until that 0 in reputation changes to a 1 or more, it is a hindrance. But I'll keep emailing and listing.....

Hey guys!, I started with ebay in 1998, I never tried to transfer feedback to any site including this one. I understand your concern. How much will it cost you to buy a low cost item or two to get that feedback. There are .99 cant items and items that ship for free. That will get you past the 0. I think most of you have plenty of experience, you just need to put it to use like you did when you first started at ebay. Take a loss on a few items that did not cost you much and let your customer know you are doing it for feedback - you will get it. Later feedback on ebay will mean nothing - you know it too! ebay is not going away, they just don't want us small guys anymore. We are not profitable to them when you look at how much more trouble we are to them than the big guys. So, we suck it up and show them what they are losing. Nothing worth while comes easy or quick. ebay, paypal, Revolution Money Exchange all buy business - try it! After a while you will not need to. Best of luck!!!!! Rick

Hi Everyone,
I am new here but I thought I would like to share some information that I was given at another site that I am selling from.
To help draw traffic and hopefully sales.
1. List, list and list some more.
2. Email everyone you can about your store.
3. If you use paypal, you can get everyones email address that you have sold or bought from.
4. Blog, put your stores link in your blogs
5. Add fliers, stickers to your packages, bills, letters.
6. Visiting and talking in the community forums helps
7. Buy nows are indexed in google over auctions with no buy now.
8. Join groups, such as myspace to make friends and ask them to give you advise on your store.
I hope that helps and good luck everyone,
Denise

I just made 2 sales, to the same person but still two sales, I am very excited about it. Still learning how to invoice and all that stuff.
I plan on buying a few small items myself to get the feel of being a buyer as well.
Maybe things are starting to pick up with tax return time. :)

Well, I have read a lot of good ideas, adding links to emails you send with invoices so that people can find you.
What I have done myself is point two of my domains directly to my store, then once the customer have seen what I have they will obviously go see what else there is from other stores and thats a little bit of help we all need.
Secondly, when you need something, why not look here first to buy what you need from another of us before going to any other store and check the prices. I have purchased 2 itmes so far from other salers, yet to make my first sale.
We all need to sale and make a little profit but still compete with other bigger competitors in order to survive. Make a little loss on big promotions to attract new customers that will benefit everyone here.
So all I can say is this, lets buy as much from each other as possible, generate bids and build ourselves a reputation. If we could use ebay's existing rep on here it would be even better. New customers would feel save to buy from us.
My 10 cents
Marcel

Marcel,
You can bring your feedback from Ebay.......there is a thread in the forums on how to do that......but it's pretty simple.....Go to repatoo.com......create your banner there......then come back here and look up thread entitled "Feedback import options from Repatoo".......Pete is awsome and can help you get that feedback listed in your siggy here.

I don't know about anyone else but I still have a store on ebay and I just sent out almost 50 emails to my customers to let them know about this place. I told them that a lot of sellers from ebay have moved here so hopefully they will join the crowd. Ebay will probably kick me off for sure now. But that's ok my auctions are almost all over. If any of you still have anything to do with ebay please send your customers and email and tell them about this place so we can get some business going

Hi,
I'm also leaving ebay!
I also sell on ecrater and started to sell here as well.
One thing about alot of auction websites,if there is no buyers, and just sellers, the auction website will be doomed.
If the buyers finds out, that they can get the item they are looking for here cheaper, well this website could be a #1 website bigger than ebay!
have a great day!

Well it takes sellers to make an auction site good and we are getting the sellers from eBay or (greedbay)
With all the new sellers on this site eventually the buyers will find out about us and soon will follow but
This takes time and cannot be expected to happen overnight.
I been here since March and I get a lot of views and got some offers but the buyers did not meet my
Requirements (well stated in my policies) but this is to be expected moving from eBay. And the way the
Economy is people are not spending the money right now. We all got to be patient and work together to
Make this auction site #1
So far nothing beats the costumer service here and the friendliness of the members here
And to me that means a lot so iam here to stay
unclejunk1
05-23-2008, 08:17 PM
I have posted here more than I really want to but some things need repeating. Patience is the key. When I first started here I was not so excited. I waited a while before listing anything, one reason was that I did not see many things like I sell. That was ok, once you start listing others will also list. Buyers cannot buy if it is not there and it takes time for them to find you. It also helps to buy here even if it is small items to build your reputation on this site. I believe that is more important than bringing your feedback from other sites. Do not worry if you are the only one listing your kind of goods, it may very well work in your favor. If you are listing the same stuff others are then why should they buy from you? Price, quality or do you just think you look better online? Be a little different, keep the cost down and run a special or two. Invite buyers to buy from you. I like to buy better than sell but must sell to keep up my habit. Buying makes you feel better. Make it easy for your customers. Are your listings up to par or just quickly done? Are they simple enough or to complicated? Are your photo's good or full of background? Now don't go running to mine because I also make mistakes. I am also guilty of getting in a hurry. Don't copy be unique. The site is important but you must take the responsibility to get it right.
Best of luck!
Rick

I wonder, how many of these registered members are buyers? How can you sell anything on this site when there are 21,267 registered members and 89 online users at a given time?
We, sellers are leaving eBay to join Webidz. It will be a fruitless effort if you cannnot make a sale here. Why not stay with eBay, and let the "Big Brother" sticks it to you?:p
