Admin! Would there be a chance you can remove the (Bidder ID Hidden) from the site? It's a bad deal to have that, as you think! Who really wants that and why? It's Bad all the way around!

Thanks

I'd like to see it gone also.

While that is a feature Ihave not seen, I definitely would not want bidders to be anonymous to the seller.

The bidder would not be hidden from the seller, the bidder would be hidden from the rest of us. When you click on the just sold column on home page, it shows the seller, what the widget was, and the buyer. What we are talking about is the buyer on that page would say Bidder ID Hidden.

What i'm getting at guys is the hidden bidder wasn't here then you could see if that same buyer is bidding on all of the same sellers items and vise a versa! (Bidding up) Having hidden bidder on there is a sneaky way to get your item up in $'s
Like if your a bidder on a hidden id auction and you can't figure out who keeps bidding you up! Having it off there you could see if that bidder is just bidding that all that sellers items up@! Then you know whats going on!

Yes, I agree. I see no reason why you should not be able to see who you are bidding against. Also, as MJ-trading said that option leaves open a lot of room for abuse by unscrupulous sellers.

I don't quite like the feature either, never really understood why someone might need it unless a bidder is bidding on mature items. Why don't the admin charge a high fee or somehow (of possible) limit the use of the feature to selling mature items.

We were thinking of removing this option last year, but never made any concrete decisions. We will look into this again, and take into account the responses our members have posted here.

I don't think kat included an auction number... What is the auction number, so I can look into this?

I have never liked the hidden bidder option, but there were other arguments for this option. Although I usually make all final decisions, I like to listen to others opinions as well.

:D I definitely feel that is a feature we do NOT need as well..I also always wondered why some
sellers would want to be 'private'?

We have removed this feature from the auction details pages. Sellers can still select this option on the listing page, but it will not function on the auction page. We will be removing from the listing page as well... But this requires testing before implementation. So past and present auctions will now show all bidders.
