Hi folks!
I'm seeing alot of members and stores that do hand-crafted items. I (mostly) sew - welding/biker caps and also doggy dresses. I have also dabbled in stained glass and petal porcelain - tho I haven't tried scrap-booking yet.
I've offered to sell my MIL's ceramics here on Webidz but she prefers to give her stuff to friends.
Anyway, I am interested in all types of crafts and would enjoy talking with all you other hand-crafters.
Thanks! Sarah (bamadog_8)

Hi Sarah!

I'm a crafter too, although I don't sell many of my items. Mainly, I'm not fast enough, but also I end up getting attached to what I'm making or somebody wants it and I end up giving it away. LOL :)

I cross-stitch and crochet the most, although I also make my own soaps and bath salts.

As soon as I can clear enough space in my craft room, I'd like to get on with my next two goals which are to finally learn to sew and learn to knit. ROFL!!

I dabble in lots of other crafts too like painting wood craft items, gifts in a jar, and I'm heck on wheels with a glue gun!

Anyone else?

You both are really smart..I love to do many things but got sort of annoyed at
me' self as it appears (here lately) I will invest quite a bit of $$ to learn and buy materials
for a craft, then NOT FINISH what I started!! LOL, I gave two quilts away that I had done
and only needed the backing..now is that STUPID or what??

Well, I do admit to having quite a few projects going at once. The multi-tasker of the craft world. hehehe

I tell myself it's so that if I get bored with one thing, I can work on something else for a bit. (yea rite)

That's part of the reason it takes me so long to finish anything. LOLOLOL

Don't even want to pay for your materials, much less expertise!

Hi, I added my links to your Squidoo lens. I'm still working on my lens but I think I have the "add a link" done correctly so Webidz sellers can add links to my lens also.

Rated your lens & left a comment. Great job! Fenton, Imperial Glass & Fire King, eh? Welder, Biker, Sewing, Skullcaps, AKC Pomeranians, showdogs. Do you realize how many different lenses you could make? ;)

ALL with links to your stores (and Webidz, LOL)!

Yep...that's how it's done! ;)

By the way...got any Fire King TULIP Canisters? :o

Thanks Sylvia and Lana, I was able to add the modules... once Squidoo got my password straightened out. Every time I tried to log on, it'd tell me wrong password and I'd have to get them to email me another... that went on for days... over & over again. I got the Webidz RSS feeds working on both Squiddo and MySpace but can't seem to change anything else on MySpace. (Sylvia, I'm still trying to figure out feedburner:)
I've got Webidz linked to my Pom site too. I removed the no-right-click on my pom graphics so now their showing back up on Google images and I'm getting more hits again on the pom site.
My problem is - all my products are "luxury items" in this economy. The only thing really selling is my welder hats. Good thing I love to sew. LOL
I have even managed to promote Webidz with hats too. I made up some business cards and attach them to the hat, putting the size on the back-side of the card. Shipped 2 today (sold from the other auction place) and made sure I attached cards to them!:D

Great job bama!!! You go, girl!! You've been busy!

I've been working on my outdated myspace page for TWO days. Just about there, I think.

http://www.myspace.com/angelsolutions (add me - all are welcome)

Then, I had to create a live.com (hotmail) email address because yahoo is bouncing my group emails and I can't unbounce them. GAAAHHHHH So now it should only take like...FOREVER to change the addresses on all my groups. doh...

Do you use Firefox? I ask because sometimes I tangle up a password in Firefox's password manager and it's a DOOZIE to straighten out.

Feedburner's not too bad, you'll get the hang of it. Look at all you've done already! WOWZERS! ;)

Love that picture of the hats! May have to get some for hubby's work for Christmas. Sam is a pipefitter/welder.

Keep on rockin' Ms Bama!

Hi All,
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! I have a new litter of pom pups (Poms only go into labor on Sunday's & Holiday's:) Mom & both babies are doing well.

Sylvia, I need some pipe-fitter advice. My hubby says pipe-fitters wear their hats sideways because of the angle they use to weld. Hubby has aleady requested a double-billed hat for winter wash-downs to cover both ears. Would double-billed hats be popular with pipe-fitters? I'm wondering if this type of hat would generate enough interest make it worthwhile for me to make 30+ styles, 30+ listings, at least 3 more storage bins for finished hats in my already over-crowded house?

Thanks!
Sarah

Hiya Sarah!

Sowwy took me so long to git back to ya. Congrats on the Pom pups! :D

Wow, ya know I've never seen any of the fitters here wearing double-billed caps. They wear the regular welder ones. go figure. My husband doesn't wear one. His hair is a bit longer than most and a cap bugs 'im. LOL We's old hippies. ROFL

Can you post an image of one here and I'll show it to my husband? If I can I'll print out the picture to have him show it at work. ;)

Hi Bama!

I mainly crochet doilies but I have made a few blankets. I have done 1 quilt top and am working on another for my daughter's bed. I just have to get my sewing machine fixed (sigh). I'm not very good at sewing but would love to be better at it.

I can not paint worth a lick (pictures that is) and drawing is, well, awful but everyonce in a while I still try.

I want to learn beading and making pretty jewlry in the future. My daughter Heather made me a necklace that I wear all the time. When she was 7 a heart necklace she loved broke. The heart had blue diamond like stones in it. She knew I love blue so she put the heart on a flowered shoestring and then gave it to me. My 7 year old at the time then told me that when ever I feel sad or lonely all I have to do is look down and see her love for me!

I wear it everyday!

That's my sharing time :)

Like so many before me here, I do several deifferent types of crafts. My favorite is basket weaving. I make my own dye for the baskets as well.

Hi Home,
I use to make baskets also, but don't have time these days :) Lucky if I can get a baby quilt made for all the little ones these days.
You should post a pic of your baskets, love to see them, or even think about maybe putting a few on a Webex points auction. I LOVE Baskets :D:D:D

Anybody here knit or crochet.....have you seen the needles/hooks that light up using what I think is fiber optic technology. I gave a series of hooks to a friend who loves to crochet despite being legally blind....she loved them....if you are interested I have a few sizes here and I might be able to still get them I haven't checked on that suppliers stock in awhile.

I love to sew. As you can see in my store, I'm addicted! I also teach sewing, so that the fun can continue. I have been sewing for quite a few years, but I also knit, crochet, macrame, and embroider by hand and machine. So you can see that there's not a lot of time left for sleep, hee hee

I am a handspinner and card fiber blends on a small drum carder.I also raise wild silkmoths. I noticed nobody sells yarns here, no handspun at least.I specialize in exotics fibers.I don't do much crochet as my wrists complain! I have silkworms making paper for me right now.
I am spinning again after a nice break during the summer. I work all winter and get burned out in May or June. Then I concentrate my energys on my caterpillars.

Wow, your very industrious, raising your own silk worms.
How interesting and fun.
I think you should do well here.
