Hi,
I have been selling for awhile. And I have checked out this site and I would like to give you all a little advice. I have noticed that not to many people have any sales. I would try to start out selling things that people would want to buy but it doesn't matter if you make a profit off it. Start your auction at .99 offer combined shipping. You want to get some sales under your belt so buyers feel more confortable buying from you. I have noticed A LOT of the auctions are starting out way to high. People can get the same thing else where for much cheaper. Keep in mind there are very popular sites that sell for cheap. So, you might want to go to other sites and see what they are selling it for then do the same or a little less here ( to get them in the door).

You have to have pictures people want to see what there buying! Have a in depth description and be honest. Is it new or used, what condition is it in, what size is it, etc. You can also use your description to make the sale. What a great item for the price!

Use real good pictures keep in mind they aren't in a store this is there only way of seeing what they are buying.

Answer e-mails ASAP. Let them know you are an honest seller and they are number one to you. Charge actual shipping people don't want to spens a lot on shipping.

To help advertise your site put it in your signature so everytime you e-mail someone and they e-mail you link gets spread around. Go to many forums and advertise your store. It's free and is a great way for people to see your store. There's a lot of stay at home moms that like to shop.

I hope this helps and don't get me wrong I'm not a know it all. There's a lot I need to learn myself this is just stuff I have learned from experince and researching. You all have a great evening and again I hope I helped. :D

Thank you Sell4less for your advice!

I for one (I'm sure others do to, they just stay quite) do appreciate any help I can get!

I have been sick and had my phone turned off (cut me off from my internet) since right before Christmas with the phone only being of most recently for about a week. I usually try to post often.

I crochet doilies and such and I think maybe I have priced my things a little to high. I hate to put all that work and time into what I make but I do see your point of getting them in the door :) I will greatly reduce their prices and see what happens.

I will try to check out your store soon and maybe learn a little more from your items.

Take Care,

Your welcome I hope that things work out better for you. I would love to see this site take off! I sell on another site and the fees are outragous so I found this one and am hoping to make some sales.

What you could do is go trough stuff in your house that you no longer want and don't care if you make any money on it. Start it at a .01 or .99 auction just so you can get some buyers under your belt. That's what I did when I started out and I noticed the more feedback I got the more buyers I got.

I haven't posted anything to sell yet because I've been so busy but I'm going to sart soon and see how it goes on this site. I do know that when I do auction bids here I'm probally only going to get one so I myself am looking for things that I don't care if I make a dollar on.

I'm not a professional but have had a lot of help from power sellers and they have given me great advice so I thought I would pass it on. If you ever have any questions please feel free to ask. Have a great day! :)

:)Also, just a added FYI, if I may...we all do better when we show banners/linking
to our stores and auctions in the forums and everywhere we post. I have more sales
than I show, (1) did not receive FB on some. (2) I just became really active here again
and plan to list and sell a LOT more. I have been on many many sites for nearly nine
years with 100% FB and maybe 5,000 sales. And YES, a LOT of it I had to sell low!

I wish everyone wonderful sales and good friendships made in 2008!! :D

Thanks for the great advice, I too have been selling on other sites and got tired of their fee structure! I'm new here & just learning the ropes so I'll need help with everything....banners? what's banners? See: I know nothing.....but am willing to learn. I will also start out selling items to catch the drift of the buyers frequenting this site & hopefully learn what they're looking for. Sure wish we could bring our feed back from other sites here but I'm willing to start from scratch again. I'm glad this site has such a great forum to learn things from! and the friendly people who GIVE great advice! Thanks! Yvonne

Silent, Read this thread on bringing your feedback from other sites.
Create an account with Repatoo and then you can get a banner for your feedback.
Most of the info is in the thread.
