View Full Version : Report Scammer & Non Paying Bidders
admin

As the WeBidz site grows in popularity, so does the probability of scammers and non paying bidders that may end up here. We are asking for our members help in policing this activity, by making such reports here. This thread will be continually monitored, so we can take immediate action for each issue.
If it is a suspicious contact message, we will look into it and remove all messages that are found to be fraudulant or not legit, then post the results back in this thread. If you post the text of the message, this will also help educate other members what to look for.
If it is a non paying bidder, we will initiate an invesigation into their account. Then take appropriate action, which may include: contacting the member, suspensions, blocks being placed. Other sellers can choose to block these members from bidding on their auctions, by clicking the selling>>block users links in the members area. We ask that you do not report NPB's here until seven days after the sale, unless you know for a fact the sale is not legit.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this list of users that mj has listed have all been suspended in the past, as this member has been very diligent in reporting each. There is not really any need to add them to your blocked bidder list, as they no longer have access to the WeBidz site.

Yes, their account is still in our database because there were transactions involved, but their account is in a permanantly suspended state. So they would not be able to bid, even if they wanted to.
Accounts that belong to scammers/spammers are always suspended. So there isn't any need to add these to your blocked bidders list, just report them. Non paying bidders or problematic bidders are usually given more than one chance, so it is usually good to add these to your blocked bidder list. In this case (bgchamp3x), there was more than one problematic transaction, and they were not willing to comply with site policy...

Just curious about something Admin..a Couple of us had a scammer/spammer
contact us recently..he actually attached some of his 'carp' to my and JB's auctions..(using
the 'ask seller a question'.) .is there someway to remove that text?? It sure does not
look nice, and makes the legitimate seller look a little foolish, IMHO.. What do 'yall think?

This thread was actually a suggestion from the member mjwjw2004. It was a very good idea, and I wanted to be sure we are not taking credit for this.
Are those messages still on your auctions? Or have they been removed? We remove such messages when we find or they are reported to us. If you ever have any spammy not auction related messages, just let us know the username of the person that left. We will then look into all messages left by that member, and remove if appropriate.

mj,
Yes that account was actually deleted in the past, but evidently they acquired new IP's and signed up again (using the same username) and sent out 12 messages. We are no longer deleting accounts for this reason, but rather suspending and placing blocks. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

Unlike mj-tradings ordeal, mine is still unresolved.
I won an iPhone from the seller flipper4che, and I still have not received the item or any responses from the seller. I paid with PayPal, so hopefully I will get my money back... but who reallly knows...
I just wanted to give you guys a heads up about this guy. He probably already deleted his account so I doubt you will have to suspend him. I have already filed claims with every place and organization I could think of.
Let me know if you have any thoughts,
Jeremy

Good Luck and Hope you get your phone or a refund!
Jeremy You can also go on advance serch click sellers and put his name in to see if it comes up and he is still selling here!

jeremy,
Can you open a ticket at the helpdesk, so we can fully investigate this. Please include auction number and any details that will help us look into this. Filing a chargeback complaint is with Paypal is also a very smart move when you think think something is wrong.

I am not sure if it was the seller who refunded to you, or if it was paypal that forced the refund. If you could let us know details via a ticket, this would be greatly appreciated. We like to document and investigate current issues, to be able to prevent future issues.
thanks guys for all the advice.

Not much can do about it tho when my son check with Motorolla they said they would look into it but being it's made and sold from overseas not as much they can do, but if it was made overses and a USA person sold it then they can!

We are actually waiting to hear back from Apple on these items, to see if they are legit or not(which we are fairly certain they are not).
We do not have the resources to research every item on the site, but we have been trying to check into larger sellers that we feel may be selling counterfeit items. With the help of the rights owners, we should be able to distinguish the majority of fake items on the site.
