I had not heard of a update to 2.10 either, Ace.. Maybe Myra & John or Admin will
tell us more. I have been so happy that mine is working so well (XP-PRO) that I haven't
gone NEAR the update button!! :D

He announce the update the other day! In order to get the update he said is to save your auctions (back them up) reload the wam like your starting over! This gives you the new version!
Lana! If you just loaded yours the other day you might already have the update!
The only problem we were having is when we delete items it took the rest of them off the screen too! We have to get out of Wam and restart it then the auctions are back on!

I think you may be right JM..!! I backedup..then took down ALL old versions.
It started like a dream..I know it sounds goofy, but I think it had something to do
with this new PC and 2.10. After my old PC died, see..I just could not ever seem
to get WAM or ANY other of the auction manager programs I use to work right.
I do think you are right I think I HAVE the newest..It has been WONDERFUL!! :D

Have you tried to delete 1 or 2 yet? That's where our problem is!
Lanascountry
04-26-2008, 04:45 PM
No but I have another AM program I use that if you highlight ones you want
deleted it zaps all of them!! You gotta do 1 then 1 then one..shoot..:p

This was never like that before!
See the reason i need to delete some is with over 6200 auctions it slows the WAM alot! So if i back up all 6200 then delete everything except the electronics and motor items, Then i back them up which is around 3150! It gets a little faster but looks as i might have to break it down more as when i click edit on a auction it takes forever to come up! Then when done edit it takes forever to get to the main screen! Lots of extra work but i need it to be faster with all the rest of our sites we have to take care of! Just been spending way to much time on this WAM!

Here is a copy of admin thread on WAM on the 21st
Auction Manager v2.10 released
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We released the newest version of the auction manager earlier today, which is version 2.10. Due to the amount of database and config updates for this version, there will not be an auto update option from previous versions. Users would need to uninstall older versions, then install the new version.
If you have templates and auctions that you would like to save, you would need to backup auctions from the file menu, before uninstalling. After installing the new version, you would then restore auctions from the tools menu.

What are you backing up to MJ?? I think in future that folks like yourselves may need
to save in LOTS of folders or something? (Please understand that I do NOT know if that
is possible in WAM, but what I am having to do(learn) in my other AM)

well i can't get 2.10 to work at all due to the fact that i got vista ultimate running in 64 bit mode.
and admin said wam 2.10 will not work on 64 bit systems he said thay are working on a 64 bit
program that should work for me. I could go back to 32 bit but i fell in love with it :D . its so much
faster then 32 bit but theres a lot of programs that will not work on it like my sound card can't
get it to work at all so i just due without sound guess you got to take the good with the bad

The delete issue is a new one to me, sounds like it may be a bug with v2.10. There have been no updates since the 2.10 release, so anybody that installed a fresh version of 2.10 has the latest version. I will check further into the other issues reported, and hopefully get resolution shortly.

We can't do anything about your sound card or other issues, but at least we can get the auction manager to work on your system. Hopefully it will not take too long.
I agree with you about 64 bit, there is no other way to go. Our regular PC's are 32 bit as well as our servers, but we are upgrading our servers to 64 bit systems very soon. The performance changes are unbelievable.

This (v2.10) was the latest release, but not an auto-update release. I though I read in one of your posts, referring to an auto update. With v2.10 users should have uninstalled previous versions, then completed a fresh install. I probably just misunderstood what you said, sorry about the confusion.

ya i think there's no hope for the sound card. will have to find one but very hard to find the one i need
or want :) . ya 64 bit is twice as fast as 32bit but its very hard to get hardware to work with it and
of course i got vista which makes it twice as hard but in time i sure there will be driver updates
and fixes for it in the future

This is where I saw it... You said that 2.10 was fine until you did an update. There should not be an update to 2.10. Possibly are you referring to the database verification routine?
