Olympic Games in China

With all the protests at the torch relay, here, in Australia etc, should we boycott the games over China's policies?

I have been wanting to reply to you, just been a little busy. So here goes....

I believe that we should not boycott the Olympics as:

1. Will it change the policies that you are boycotting for?

2, Why punish all the atheletes that have worked so hard to earn the privelige to participate in the Olympics?

3. What will it accomplish? Will China change it's policies? What will the rest of the world think? Why mix politics and the Olympics?

Just some thoughts....

I did not agree with the boycott of the 1980 games in Moscow and we should participate here. The best way to make the Chinese take notice is if we beat them in the gold medal count on their home turf.
