View Full Version : Fast forums, slow main site loading...

Many Many persons I have introduced this site to have mentioned of its slow loading times.. Speed things up a bit would be great... Not sure where the bottle neck is though... Server not able to handle a big load or is it the bandwidth...

There are a variety of factors that result in slow loading times, which are addressed on a daily basis through various maintenance proceedures. With our new platform that is currently under development, this will resolve the current and future bottlenecks.

Just speaking of my own experience here...I have broadband, and it is
FLYING for me.:)

Other auction sites are flying....

Might be due to the hosting provider being not on a major backbone to most canadian ISPs.

Where are you located? & Where is this server located ?

Our servers are located in Texas, and are supported by nine major backbones. We have 100mbps connection speed with over a TB of bandwith available (per server). There should be no reason why our site should load any slower than other auction sites you are speaking of. It may be that your ISP or router has DNS issues?

Nortern Cable is my current ISP.

Not sure how fast it is for bell south customers...

Maybe someone in here are from canada and can answer this question.

I'm in the southwest United States and I have the same problem with the slow loading times.
I don't think the problem is with my isp because I have a cable connection and I haven't had any issues with other sites. Also, the forum loading times are fine, its just the main site and its links.

There are times that the site is slow, due to very high traffic levels. Sunday morning at 12:30 AM we will be performing a server upgrade, so it will most likely resolve slowdowns that you are experiencing.

Looks like you are up late sam. Just wanted to let you know that the site and community will be unavailable in about 30 minutes for a server upgrade. Didn't want to mess you up in the middle of working, so though we would give you a heads up.
