Server Upgrade

We had planned a server upgrade around the end of June. Due to unexpected growth rates, we are having to move this date closer. We now expect to have this server upgrade around the end of the month, or sooner if we can have everything in line before this time. The upgrade should only take a few hours, but we will be informing our members to expect up to 24 hours for this upgrade to fully take effect. We will post more details as we have definitive dates and times.

Our server upgrade is scheduled for Sunday, June 1st at 12:30 AM PST. Everything is currently on schedule for this date/time. Should configuration not be completed by this time, this date may need to be moved out. We expect the transition, including DNS propogation to be completed within about four hours, but could take longer.

When the site is back up, we expect there to be some image issues (images missing). Please do not worry, as this is normal for such a transfer. Since there is such a large amount of images, transfer takes longer for this. So don't worry about editing your auctions because of missing images, as they will all be restored.

We are moving the server upgrade from June 1st, to June 8th at 12:30 AM PST. Although we could most likely rush and get everything in line for tomorrows scheduled upgrade, we would rather be able to fully test and not rush this process.

We will not be upgrading the servers tomorrow morning. Although the server was all set up earlier this week, we have found some issues while testing on our test site. The help desk was transferred to a new server a couple days ago, but is also experiencing issues writing to the database. So tickets there have yet to be answered due to this issue. We are working on a resolution for both issues at this time, and will post more details later.

We have found and resolved the help desk and beta site isues, so all is looking good for our transfer tomorrow morning. We are going to continue testing, to ensure here are no other issues that will pop up. We will post again later, as we get closer to the scheduled upgrade time.

We are just about to get underway with the rest of the server upgrade. So the site and community will be unavailable in a little over thirty minutes. The auction manager will be turned off for about 24 hours, as we will need to upload a new version. So please be sure to update when prompted. Otherwise your version will not be able to connect to the new server.

The transition went exactly as planned with absolutuley no issues. The site was totally transferred and functional by 5:00 AM PST. Depending on propogation time of our members ISP's, would depend on when the site started appearing for everyone. Propogation is usually completed within about 4-6 hours, but can sometimes take up to 24 hours for some ISP's. So there may still be some that are seeing the "maintenance" screen from our old server.

We expect to have an update for the auction manager within the next 24 hours, so please update this when prompted. Otherwise the software will be trying to connect to the old server.
