ODDEST PC thing I have ever seen!

Just wondering if someone might help me.. I NEVER had this happen until I got my
new PC tower!! (OS-XP-Pro)

OK..real strange pc question..all of a sudden my scroll on my NEW XPpro
is going NUTS!! I will be working and all of a sudden, the whole screen
zips down to the bottom of the page and if I am typing the cursor jumps
all over and goes from one line to another like it is typing!! Haunted?? :D

Could anyone advise me please?

are you using a cordless mouse and keyboard??

if not could be that you need to check to see if there
are any updates for your mouse and keyboard.

if you are using a wireless mouse and keyboard

1. you may need to update your drivers

2. you might have to reset your connection with the
reciever there should be a little red button on the
bottom of the mouse and keyboard and the
reciever press the one on the reciever first then
the mouse and keyboard this will reset the
connection.
3. it could be interfearance from something that
you recently added or moved closer to your
computer if so move it and see if this solves
your problem.

if none of the above work i suggest that you
hire the ghostbusters :D

I use a wireless mouse.........mine does that when the batteries need changed.

If you need to hire ghostbusters..........I'm not comming to visit.

Well Guys..yal gave me a starting point, but heres' the prob..I saved my old
plug in keyboard and mouse when I got new tower..NO wireless. :confused:
EVERY reference I found online (of system doing this) was to wireless OR
laptop, and this is my desktop...(main) Thank you and if yal keep helping me
search, I would be most grateful! :D If OK with yal, we can have a PC prob
thread right here for folks to list any probs they may be having. What do you
think?

Take a hammer to it Lana, I threaten mine all the time and it straightens right up !

Not sure if I would take much advice from a comp help thread, as these things are expensive, and you know as well as I know that there are people in the world just waiting to mess up or gain access into a comp.

Simple stuff like your mouse thingy or something like that isn't bad or even is something on the site compatible with my comp question.

You know what Kat..it seems that it is worse on some sites than others..I go to ebay
to see what is going on over there and my PC goes nuts!! :D

John, Just so I know, do you have a plug in port mouse and keyboard like
I do, or the optical? So far no info..I just got a bad feeling I have picked up a 'bug'
on this thing..don't know why it would do this though.

Plug in! I think it's just something that happens once a while as we have a real good bug detector and there is nothing in ours!

ok theres another thing you can do but its is tricky goto system device in
the control panel find the device that says mice and other pointing divices
uninstall all your mice drivers then reinstall (search for new hardware)
option but heres the tricky part when you uninstall the mouse driver you
will loose your mouse you will have to use the tab to switch for one option
to another and the arrow keys to move curser you may also need to
reboot your system.

Well it may have nothing to do with anything, but I just this afternoon
renewed my Norton AV and ran all the scans.. It has NOT happened
since..(yep holding my breathe) but since I spent that bit of money anyway..
I think I will break down and replace this decrepit old keyboard and mouse! :D

We use to have problem of bugs getting in our pc with norton and then the server i'm threw threw me onto this and we haven't had no problem since! And it's FREE! You can even scan your A & D disks with it!

PS: I don't know if it will work with a Norton too! It might say on the site if you can run any others with it!

AVAST does do a good job as well John..I am running the other one again my friend it is finding 'tracks'
everywhere!! WONDER WHY?? :D
