Hey bossman,
I have the WAM on this laptop now......When I try to put in my username and password, click save, it comes up with a window that says "Must be an updateable query" ???
Have never gotten that before......this laptop has Windows Vista (I hate) on it. Any clues what to do???

Kat,

I have no ideas what would cause this error message. I will have to forward to our programmers to look into this one. Could you possibly post the contents of your error_log.txt file here? That would most likely help us find the issue quicker.

Bossman,
It wasn't an error code of anykind....it just kept telling me that it had to be an updateable query.....also on opening wam i have noticed it pops up a box and a progress bar that says it is verifying database, something that never happened with windowsXP

I found the this thread........

Wam setup and error code (http://community.webidz.com/showthread.php?t=6047)
followed what you said to do there and it took my username and password then.
Thanks John for reminding me.

BTW Boss, Can you put the whos online page back on auto refresh??? PWEASE PWEASE PRETTY PWEASE

The verifying database is what it should be doing for Vista, and should not do on XP. So you turned UAC off and it is letting you enter the details now? UAC can be such a pain at times...

Yep......took my info, uploaded the master data(after I turned off the norton firewall) and uploaded my backup back onto the site(after I turned the firewall off again).
Should I turn it(UAC) back on now????

dont know if you seen this in the post above........

Bossman, since I'm not a compy person, is there a way to make WAM "compatable" with Norton so that I don't have to turn off the firewall to get WAM to connect with the site? I know there is probly some kind of setting to do, but can't seem to find anything in Norton.
I don't really like Norton, but some protection is better than no protection.

Kat get rid of that Norton and put that one i told you about! Ask lana how much that new one picked up that Norton left behind!

I don't know what is different, but my Nortan is not blocking anything in WAM.

I have found that you have to leave that feature (uac) in Vista turned off, for if not, you cannot do anything with Wam, can't even create a new listing. Well, you can go through the whole process of creating it, but when you go to save the listing, if UAC is turned on, it comes up with the "must be an updateable query" message.

Kat,

We have turned auto refresh back on for who's online. I am not sure what increment we had this set for previously, but we have set to 60 seconds.

Kat,

This should be able to work through your Norton firewall. We use Mcafee and it provides an initial prompt, asking if we want to allow the connection. We choose yes and tell it to never prompt us again for this program. I am not sure the layout of Norton, but there should be a section that allows you to specify which programs can be allowed access through the firewall.

Is anyone else running Norton, or know where such a setting is located?

No worries about the norton boss, I forgot about the better one John told me about....so norton is history on this comp.
