You know what, I just realized my kids (starting today) are out of school for the summer. That means 3 months of them constantly being around asking stupid questions. And every 5 minutes one of them will say Momma...(usually followed by a question or request)...

Gonna put a poll on this, how many of you guys think that our kids are not educated enough and need to go to school all year long (with the usual holiday breaks of course), and this will go a long way to helping the parents stay sane? Yall know which way I'm voting !

Seriously, there are some schools here that go year round, 3 months then 3 weeks off, then repeat. Kids like it, so do parents. Even teachers like it, as kids don't get antsy in school and loose alot of what they learned. I have a couple of nephews that do this and they love it.

Our kids don't get a spring break for that very reason, after OKC school gets out for theirs, our kids go for another solid week, then have most every friday out, giving them a 3 day weekend, until the end of the year (considered as their spring break)......they stay focused that way, and parents don't have to worry about child care for a solid week, if the kid is still that young to need it.

Ya, then they will need to come up with something else due to the education going down.

Going year round will burn them out and they will be so tired of school they won't want to go to college!
Won't the USA be in a mess then!

The kids here don't seem to mind at all. They really kind of like it. They get more vacations, only shorter, still go the same amount of time. Teachers like it, and so do parents. So I feel that it is a good thing.

Just my opinion, as my kids are graduated, with one in college. He finally figured it out, need an education to get a decent job. Besides he is riding out this recession going to school.
