Where are all the buyers? I have offered free shipping on all my jewelries to attract buyers to buy from me. I am not the only one in this situation, I have heard from many sellers complaining of not making any sale on this site. I have sold four items on this site so far. Three of the sales are non paying bidder

Well the good news is that webidz has had a lot of new members sign up in the last few days, so maybe this will spur some bids and sales.

Thanks Tom for the reply,
I had to step away for a few and gather my thoughts.

I may be shooting myself in the foot with this post, but I'm to the point I don't care (I'm sick and tired of negative posts)......

I'm not a long time online seller. Have only been doing this since Nov. 07......
We thought it would be something for me to do to occupy my time, since my husband would rather I get to stay at home and be able to go to functions/games with the kids.

I did the Ebay thing, lost over $400.00 in listing fees over there with only 4 sales. Now, if ANYONE was ever gonna be turned off to a site and no sales, I'm kinda guessin that it would have been me at that point. Did I have a store there? NOPE, why on earth would I pay for a store there and pay them more fees.

So I tell Ron, there has to be a better way than Ebay, my business will go bankrupt before it gets off the ground at that rate. So I go surfin around this comp and come upon WeBidz, I do my checking around (cause at this point I'm not joining anything that is gonna cost me a red cent)......
A free basic store (that's a plus).....no listing fees (unless I upgrade my listing) (that is a BIG plus).....and an Admin that comes in and actually talks to folks and helps them work out issues (that's the BIGGEST plus).
Now let's go to sales......no not many......only about 1-2 a day (at that time).
So I look at what is selling,,,,electronics, okay, I don't deal with electronics but that's okay. The site is fairly new, and I can deal with that. So I join (cost me all of $5.00 to get verified/didn't like it, but understood it), and I have not paid a red cent since.
Yes we have had some glitches here, but hey, Bossman has more than compensated those that lost some work during the "crash" (which I personally think had some help in happening)......and the crew here has been awsome.
Since I joined in January, I have had all of 2 sales.
1 was to Lana, she had something I wanted, I had something she wanted, so we swapped and settled up the difference.
And the other was just a couple of days ago.

So far I count myself lucky that I have not had a non-paying bidder (here or on Ebay) and have to deal with that headache. One of these days I'm sure it will happen. It's just the nature of the business I guess, and you have to take the good with the bad. But I can assure you, the FIRST thing I will be doing is to turn that bidder over to Admin so they can get booted from this site.

Do we know when someone joins the site that they will be a non-payer, scammer, bully, whatever the case may be?? Of course not. I'm not in the business of doing criminal background checks on every new member. But we will deal with them as they pop up. And we will move on. At least we HAVE an Admin that will look into it and we don't get that autogenerated email that has nothing to do with the ticket we turned in.

So now that this has turned into a surmmon for the morning, Here is my question.
For those that have been selling online for longer than me (and want to post negative posts that do nothing but hurt the site as a whole), Where is YOUR OAC customer base? Why did they not follow you here and buy from you here? My OAC customer base (if you wanna call it that) is like 5 people.
Would I like you guys to bring your buyers, with the hidden agenda that maybe a couple of those might buy something from me? Of course, but I'm not gonna complain if they don't. You worked hard to build that base, and so must I to build my base. I stay positive in my work, and in the forums and posts. I buy things (as I can afford it), and show that I'm a good buyer.

We keep saying that sales are slow everywhere, Which is true, I'm not gonna do without a week of food on my table to buy something from someone that I can live without. Things are tight for everyone. When I start to think about slow sales, I have to remember to put myself in the buyer shoes, do I really need this widget this week, cause it's only 20 dollars, but just how much gas is in that truck of mine sittin outside again? Will I need that 20 dollars put in the tank to get to the store to buy food for the week?

Just some thoughts. Sorry it ended up so long. People have the right to express opinion, but just as the site starts really jumpin for a few days, a negative post for every visitor to see can kill the join rate.

I agree we should try to stay positive on the forums, it could kill out sales and join rates ,but i do understand everyones concerns, but there is a real big uptick here right now, with 100's of new users--so sales will happen just give it some more time.

Hey Kathy! You must understand that negaitves are sometimes positives in disguise. First if its a newbie and they sold on ebay they expect it to be like ebay used to be. They forget that ebay is not so great anymore. Second when you start getting successful you will make enemies without trying. They don't want you to get ahead. Never ever let them win by letting them know it bothers you!!!!! Take it as a compliment for doing things right enough to draw attention.

And Kathy, you stay Kathy -let no-one change you from being the confident gun slinger we all know! You kick butt girl!

Were you newbie at Ebay when they started? We were! We were there all the way up to about 6 years ago!
When Ebay started it was alot worse there in the 1st 2 years then it has been here! We have been here over 2 1/2 yrs now! Some Newbie jump on here from Ebay and expect sale after sale each day! It is not going to happen (YET)! Look how many years it has took Ebay to get were they are!! Now there losing all that playing there money hungry games! Comon since to anyone that has been selling for a while should know if you want a site to work, Do Not go into the community or Blogs and bad mouth it! That is all picked up by spiders and gets out to the buyers to see and they will not come!
We have 10 online stores and on 4 other auction sites and everything is slow! This is the only auction site out of the 5 that is doing anything!
I think were going to start selling boxes of Kleenex for those how like to bad mouth this site!

Hi everyone.:)
I just wanted to post a friendly reminder to everyone here at webidz. This is important to building this webidz rankings on the search engines. 1st and most important do not use another sites name here or the web browser will pick it up and increase the other sites rankings. Allways refer to webidz by name for the same reason. not here at this site. together we can make webidz a household name. I know that I am also going to help webidz by doing most of my christmas shopping here. Sure hope some of you will buy some of your stocking stuffers here at webidz too!:)
