I am new here to webidz and am very impressed with the site. Only thing is I have went all through and haven't seen the first bid on anything. This is a little discouraging. I don't know about anyone else but I think we need a little publicity like maybe a television comercial. I want desperately to make a go here and see us become the maga giant we could be. I know I am willing to pitch in $50.00 to buy a short spot on tv. How could we ever do something like this? When I had a bar I got air time on the radio and my business doubled over night. Am I just wishing?:( Maybe if we all got together and had one giant sale where everyone is involved and put it on air, it might work. What do you say? Somebody?

Sounds like a good plan, would definately have to be okay'd through Admin, but he does consider any and all advertising plans.
Somewhere in these threads is an idea by another member, something Admin is definately checking into. Let me see if I can find it and come back and paste the thread.

There is bids on items!! Items are selling! Look on home page under Recently Sold and under Popular Auctions! They have been advertising! That's why there is getting so many members! About a month ago webedz hit 20,000 now it's 21350 registered users

Admin entertains most forms of advertising. It just has to merit the money spent. Read up on it above.

Hello Rocky Road!
We all understand your frustration but I do have to point out that you just started this month. I looked at your store a few minutes ago, nice items but you sell mostly white goods. I believe you are not alone in that but can tell you it takes time on this type of site for folks to find you. I have also used radio in the past for advertising. Sometimes it did great and others was a waste of money. It was one of those things that worked better at certain times but not others. MJ was right things are selling here. My last sale was a buyout - no bids! As a matter of fact you may not want bids, if you need several bids to get to what you need and don't get there, you and your bidders get disgusted. Why not try some real deals that cannot be resisted. But remember it is not Feb. and the white sales are over. Lana said a few days back that she also needed to add more variety. As with any business you have to get attention. One way is by doing what you just did, making posts, do a blog here and on others sites to lead folks to your store. Think back to your bar, once you got them in you did something to keep them coming back - what was it? I just bet you had ladies nights, happy hours, a veggie bar, crab races or something. When I really got disgusted with ebay it took me a while to adjust to sites like this. I ran back and forth but can tell you it pays to settle in and and work your plan and stick to it.
Best of luck here!
Rick

I'm not frustated Uncle. I haven't been here long enough to get frustrated. I know it takes time when you start over I've had several businesses all over the world. And the reason I am selling bedding is because I get great deals on it and I love to sell bedding. I don't only sell bedding, I just haven't listed my other stuff yet. I also sell designer purses, clothing, shoes and a lot more. Give me time, I'll get them all listed. I just want the bosses to know that if they need my help in any way, I am here. That's all Uncle. Didn't mean to step on anyones toes here. Sorry guys. Oh and thanks for that post. It made sense.:D

Rocky,
You did not step on any toes. You were simply expressing your opinions and ideas, which is what the community is about. We do not currently do any TV advertising, as the costs would be outside our budget. We do spend a certain percentage of revenues on various advertising, which is increasing every month. We do not have millions for advertising, so there is not going to be an explosion that enables sellers to immediately make a living off of sales they have on WeBidz. Traffic, sales, revenue, advertising funds, etc., are continually increasing on WeBidz, so everything will only continue to get better for all. Those that have been on WeBidz for any lenght of time will be able to tell you how much progress we have made since six months ago, a year ago...
We encourage members to let us know about trade publications or other advertising avenues they feel would benefit the site. We cannot guarantee when or if a specific outlet would be used, but we do look into all suggestions.
