uBid Holdings, Inc. Streamlines Operations
Announces Closing Of Bidville.com

Asset Recovery Leader’s New Direction Doesn’t Support
Consumer - to - Consumer Auction Site
Chicago, May 23, 2008 – uBid Holdings Inc. (UBHI.OB), the leading asset recovery
solutions company for the world’s most trusted brands, today announced the decision to
close its consumer-to-consumer auction website Bidville.com due to uBid.com Holdings’
recent strategic change to focus on liquidating excess inventories.
Bidville.com’s consumer-to-consumer model does not fit within uBid.com Holdings’
recently streamlined strategy to provide comprehensive asset recovery solutions to its
brand-name partners through a multi-channel sales model.
“We recently introduced a new, more focused business strategy,” said uBid.com
Holdings CEO Jeff Hoffman. “uBid Holdings is now a multi-channel asset recovery
solutions provider. Clearly, our expertise is in a business-to-consumer marketplace
dealing only in certified supply. We are simply not equipped to run a C-to-C marketplace
like Bidville.com.”

Guests may still register for the Bidville.com website via the “Register Now” button,
which will remain active and allow users to bid in open auctions until June 13, 2008,
when existing auctions must close. No new auctions may be listed as of May 27th and
existing sellers have until June 27th to complete transactions. Prorated refunds will be
available to sellers who provide their username, email address, and amount due in an
email to refunds@bidville.com.

“We certainly appreciate everything the Bidville community has contributed.
The closing of the Bidville site will have no material financial impact on uBid.com
Holdings in the second quarter 2008. uBid Holdings, Inc. previously fully amortized
the Bidville asset in the first quarter of 2008.

We need to get some of their users to jump over to webidz, maybe admin has an ideal about how to do it or admin can contact the bidville admin and set up some kind of transfer of their users and feedback to Webidz.
This closing should help Webidz grow even more, so now is the time to start advertizing even harder.

Great post John. I agree with Tom also, time for us sellers/Admin to bump up the advertising campaign.
Do any of our sellers/buyers have contacts/customers that also shop/sell at bidville?

Hey john you can't use HTML on the forums , it has to be BBcode
[testurl] add webaddress here [/url] is for a link
[testimg] add link to picture here [/img] is for the picture
(remove "TEST" from the code)

you can combine them to make a clickable banner.

Wouldn't neccessarily have to "contact" anyone..........in the searches when someone is looking for sites, that's where the advertising/promotion could be of the most use.

The news about Bidville is kind of sad. I just hope the other site does not see it as a victory in any way. You have to feel bad for the folks that worked hard trying to make that site a good one. I know I visited and may have even listed there a time or two. Believe it or not it helps to have more than one competeting with old red eyed long horned dictator, forked tail, fire breathing, snake bellied, lizard breath, scum sucking, dog butt sniffing, oh heck what is the name of that other site - gee's forgot it already.

John I guess I should have qualified that a little better. like here it is also the people buying and selling that help to make a site work. You take that site away and all they worked for is gone. Yes I feel for them not the parent company - they lost nothing. I also hope that other place that I have finally forgotten the name of does not see it as a victory for them. You know that `12-902348235098135=98=1198`10893`1-0921-935 dad blasted place!

I also feel bad for the people who put so much hard work into Bidville over the years. Ubid never seemed to want to do anything with the site after they bought it.
