For those that don't know, we are in a drought. If I did not have neighbors I would run out in my undies and enjoy this water. Its about the only way my car gets washed. We get fined if we use water here to do it. I have not turned anyone in but see it done anyway. So yes it is good news for us!!!! Went on epier and posted a little note inviting folks to come here. Like everywhere else they are complaining about it being slow and talking about bidville. Sellers we all need to be as nice as possible to new folks buyers and sellers. We are in times that require it more than ever. We so far have picked up some good ones and a few that are stinkers - comes with change. The good out number the stinkers so be thankful. Don't forget there are sites to blog all over the internet - put your signiture out there to lead them here. You and the rest of us will benefit.

Hey Unclejunk1,

Glad to here your getting some much needed moisture! But why worry about the neighbors?? Go to some of the beaches these days... and well some should rethink their swimwear  LIVE LIFE I say
But anyhoo... I have to agree with you, this is a business, (maybe a hobby for some) and you have to work at it some! All those big companies out there didn't happen over night!! So everyone that complains, if they would only take that time to do some basic marketing, this site will become better!! So I say to everyone that is serious about making WeBidz better, put on your marketing caps, and ADVERTIZE!! ADVERTIZE!! ADVERTIZE!!

You guys can have some of the moisture we have been having here........
Guess you would want it WITHOUT the tornadoes though huh? Think we are on day 4 of sever weather.
Lightin shook me out of bed at about 3am this mornin, must have hit just on the other side of the creek wich is about 20-25 feet from my house.

Rick, who cares what the neighbors think.
Tell them you won't turn them in for water usage, if they don't turn you in for streakin.

Sorry Lana, you know how mountains are, I am sure you have seen them split clouds. Watched that happen to a snow storm when we lived near King, NC. We had a view of Pilot mountain, from one side and Hanging Rock from another. We got 14 inches and the town of Pilot Mountain just got a dusting. You remember Andy Griffith he called it Mt. Pilot on the show and never mentioned the mountain at all. Before I forget Mayberry was not in North Carolina but you will find it along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.

Hi DiMora, welcome to the site. If you have a store set up you can get a banner for it to guide folks to your store when you post. just let it be known.

Kathy, me streak - not likely - don't even want to see that myself - imagine an older Homer Simpson naked with hair. Ouch!!!! :D

Unc,

Congrats on the rain!! Thanks for the visual, I so did not need it. Got a bad enough vision when I read your post about daning in the rain, in you undies. Now I will not be able to sleep tonight. :D

Speaking of Mayberry, back in '66, my dad (Navy) got transferred from Norfolk, VA to CA, since there were 5 of us kids, we traveled by car. Besides, Dad always said "Join the Navy, see the world, family will see America".

Anyway, we had an old station wagon, and it broke down in Maysville, NC. Could have sworn it was Mayberry, honest to pete. Cool experience, and great souther hospitallity. Came away with 2 dozen fresh(that morning) eggs, 1 gallon unpaturized milk, and 2 beagle pups. What fun that trip was! Candy and Bullet were the best pups.

Anyway, thanks for bringing back old memories for me.

Singing in the rain, just singing in the rain!

Glad to hear your getting rain out there! TX suffered through a 2 year drought back in 05 & 06 then Mother Nature made up fo rit...And kind of over did it  Flooded during 07

Back to normal here now, Tornado's & flooding in the Spring, and now the heat is upon us at the end of May.
During the dought years I fed the local wildlife daily and with today's cost on corn, I'm not sure if I could afford to do so again.

Enjoy it while it last!! :D

Hi Roz! The rain was not much over 1/4". I thought I knew N.C. pretty well but cannot place Maysville, do you remember what it was near or part of the state? We did get a little rain but five miles away nothing! Expecting a little more today. I believe I have been in over 90% of that state and missed Maysville! I am going to have to see where that is. My folks go back to the early 1700's in Randolph County (center of the state) and it has never been the same since - once ruined always ruined.

Hey all..I have not been positively able to pin point EXACTLY where Mayberry (Andy Griffith
show WAS filmed) but here is some info:
Mayberry is the name of a fictional town in North Carolina which was the setting for two American
television sitcoms, The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D. Mayberry was also the setting
for a 1986 reunion television movie titled Return to Mayberry. It is also
the nickname of Mount Airy, North Carolina where Andy Griffith is originally from.

LOL, Rick, that is just 'up the road' from where we live!! :D

Here is more...(humor me) :D

The Andy Griffith Show is an American television sitcom that saw eight very successful first-run seasons in the 1960s. The show was created by Sheldon Leonard, filmed at Desilu Studios, and televised by CBS from October 3, 1960 to April 1, 1968. The show saw a spin-off series, a sequel series, and a reunion telemovie. The Andy Griffith Show is syndicated by CBS Television Distribution with reruns airing across the United States.

ALL done in HOLLYWOOD..gosh!

Lana you have a lot of it right! Mt. Airy is north of Winston-Salem, NC. Yes Andy lived in Mt. Airy and they have a festival every year for this purpose. There is even a Snappy Grill there. It is just south of the Virginia state line. Andy must have had a lot of say in what names were used. The town of Pilot Mountain was called Mt. Pilot, Mayberry was not a North Carolina town but a very small place in Virgina and is now along the Blue Ridge Parkway, go to Hillsville,VA and then North West on the parkway. There is still a General Store that was also a post office years ago. The old store was an Antique shop last time I was there. Andy worked for Mt. Airy Furniture like his Father for a while. Mt Airy Furn. became National Furniture and now part of Bassett Furniture. For a time they used Andys voice for wrong numbers on the local phone system. Donna Fargo also came from Mt. Airy, NC. Mt. Airy is about 20 miles north of the town of Pilot Mountain. A few miles to the west of Mt. Airy is where the original Siamese Twins retired. I used to know their names but it has been so long since I heard them, I have forgotten. The Siamese Twins I refer to was the ones with Barnum & Baily Circus many years ago. Last I heard Andy still has a place at Manteo, NC. Sorry cannot help myself, I used to live in the area and know more than I should about the state.

Yes a little rain. Thank goodness. The lakes are so low. Lana I lived pretty close to Mt. Airy and had my first business in Pilot Mountain. That is why I know what I do about it. The festival is a big thing there, the whole downtown and then some is tied up I did look up Maysville, I have been all around it but never through it. it really surprised me that Roz came up with a town I knew nothing about in North Carolina. Just when you think you know most of it you learn something new! Life can be surprising that way.

Thanks Roz! Been all around this town but never through it! My loss. Yes I know what you mean Lana you would think the show was made in the south but if you look at the beginning of the show it looks like California. A set can look like anywhere. All done before they built the studios in Wilmington and also later in Yanceyville near the Virginia border.
