Celiac Disease

Hi all,
My daughter has been diagnosed with Celiac disease now going on 7 years. I am just curious if anyone here has it, or heard of it. She is going to attempt to write a magazine and possibly a book someday. I am truly surprised as to how many people I run into that have it or know someone with it.

It's an intolerance to gluten, wheat, barley,and oats. We have to read labels all the time its amazing what doesn't have some kind of gluten in it! If she gets into gluten, it makes her sick to her stomach and causes the little hairs in your intestine to break so you won't be able to get the nutrients from food very well.

Kathy, Hi there..Iam so very sorry to hear that your daughter has
Celiac disease. I know a little about it and that it is a digestive disease as is
Crohn's disease (I have) and is also auto-immune. My husband and I will pray
that she will overcome and be able to live a good life, if she is forced to bear

Thanks for the warm welcome and the prayers. It has been a ruff couple years for her with plenty of dissapointments. She wants to go to college in Chicago this fall so bad. I just pray that she will be able to . She was down to 54lbs last fall adn was in and out of the ER. She is slowly doing better and her weight is up to 105. All we can do keep praying:rolleyes:

My daughter has Autism, she is now 18 years old. My husband and myself and our other 2 daughters have had a very hard life taking care of her. As she got older she started to get very aggresive and she was hurting herself. We hope that some day they will find a cure.
I hope that they also find a cure for your daughter! Tell her to keep strong and write that book and go to college and have a happy long life!

Lisa (Happyface)I know a Doctor, his son, has Autism, younger than your daughter. Not Asberger's. He was determined to find the answer, his son didn't look at them, speak, and rarely moved at all, but could play piano. Amazing! Anyway, he decide, that he would take every type of food and beverage source away from him, for an week's time, and only return Them, one by one. His son is recovered. What he found was, anything corn or grain related, or and additive thereof, was the cause of the symptom's. Along with Dairy. It worked! And he swears by it. It could possibly be a place to start, for Celiac Disease, but I'll ask my wife, she used to be a nurse. And may know much more. She has dealt with rare problem's before, such as Sjogren's. In fact, she made her mother's oncologists aware, that Sjogren's 98% of the time, leads to Lymphoma. And beleive this, or not, for to each his own, but with prayer, she is often told the answer's to many illness, problem's. And at the strangest of times. I'm not asking anybody to believe that, but we know she is blessed with a specail gift. Well , actually, somehow people from all over the world find her, to ask question's. And that is her work , in serving Christ, that we choose to truly believe in. Our prayer's for you both. And we don't pay lip service, we believe God also reads hearts, and hear's our every thought. God be with you all. The thing to remember, is Faith , hope and above all love. And please don't take this out of context, we do not, even attempt to infringe on other's beliefs. We are free though to express our's.

Really I had no doubt U would, and that's great! That you can say that in honesty, not having ever spoken with her. Info she prayed for: And was told, Yes, Celiac Disease, is similar to many other Autoimmune illness's, though was once considered very rare, is as with all Disease, becoming more common. She was witness to, only one, examine, of the internal villi, she says, small hair like folicles. That are damaged, and change the intestional tract. However, Celiac Disease,Sadly this if not treated properly, says my wife, can also lead to Lymphoma, as do many other disease's. The only good news which we hope it helpful to all here is: They have discovered, that, H-Pylori, can be the key factor, in the start of the many rare disorder's, Just goole it, she explained to much detail. Though she did say, the medical name generally used for it is Helico Bactria. Maybe not spelled right, and that over 90% of us have this sympton free. Other's have symptoms, This one can be treated, but so far never cured. And can become very serious indeed. She says, any body un familar with this, should check into it, that there is no envasive test needed to determine, if you are one that has it. A blood test, an hour wait, and they will know. In fact she has it! We had no idea. But she had major sympton's, my wife, is tiny, and has a very low tolerance against immunity of any disease. Every year, I fear for her life, she never fails to get pneumonia. And each time it's touch and go. Thank you for beleiving, because even then, in delirium, She gets blessed with things other people wouldn't beleive, but I have heard, and seen, and so have other's. . A good one on her though, is one night, she was speaking while dreaming, and I know several languages, NOT THIS!, Out loud she said. " But Lord, I do not know these word's". When I asked her later, she remembered, and she said, that God told her, yes you do! You were praying for the entire state of the world and it's people. Forgot the funny part, she didn't believe in that! LOL, and she said, it actually frightened her badly!! Only once more has this happened to her recently. I listened, and I knew some of the words. Not many. Though when she woke, she knew, most, but couldn't remember it all. And it did come to pass. So much more. Any why so many, search for her. I must admit, it does have a great advantage for me, because the glow, I have seen it! And more, so it makes it so much more easy for me to hold onto to Faith, Hope, and Love. A gift she often wishes she could to everyone. Please remember, we don't follow any manmade doctrine, No denomination, for us, it's simple, there is no right religion, it's just take up your cross and follow me. My wife says we are the Chruch, Not a building. And in God's kingdom, there will be no religion, No baptists, no Methodist's etc: all equal, all children of God. And just one more if I may? Recently she asked me, why do people insist, on using, the 23 third Psalm's, after death, at funernal's? Prayer's ascending as I try to type even. Group, Calling all Angels, that is Angels of Earth, from all over the world, who pray together, for other's. Just one ? my wife is curious about, do you have a family history of Arthritis ? Now that is personal. And we don't either of us want to be rude. It's just my wife. She almostly instantly had at least one, come to mind. Though, we have not prayed to know which 3 they call by name. Understand , I realize this is a public board, and we do not want you to feel as if we'd be offended if you never answered this. We wouldn't be at all. And we most assuredly don't want to offend you. Ohh Yes we have a history.. I have Crohns disease, Chronic Asthma,
Arthritis and more.. I also have about 15% of my hearing.. Yes, I still work and
have been off sick for a bit now, I plan to return to work tomorrow. Thank you
so sincerely for your concern and prayers. I am so sincerely grateful, my friends!
