You see what I mean? I really am not very good at using a comp. I see the <> symbol, but I also see the veiw source, only when I click that, it won't do anything. Some help? Please. Heck, I can't even find my own store. LOL . Tom
Tom, You definately have a store....and it must be enabled, because I can go to it.....however there's nothin in it bubba.
To get to your own store go to the home page>sign in>My account(grey bar)>store(grey bar). On the sub tabs of that page, click on the main settings. When you click that <> symbol you should get a box that pops up with html code in it. You should be able to scroll to the bottom, place your code and save........
Just curious, why are you wanting to place your store banner inside your store? If someone clicked on it within your store, it would simply take them back to your store home page.
Place your repatoo banner in your store main settings is a better idea.
Place your store banner in your signature for the forums here, just like you did your repatoo one.
If you need any assistance with getting items into your store, or your banner in your signature, please come back and ask. We will help ya navigate the site and soon you will be getting the lay of the land, comp geek or not.

The new 35-cent, 30-day Fixed-Price format went live to eBay.com at midnight last night. There are lots of concerns about the roll-out and the changes to search exposure. We'll be covering the topic in Wednesday's AuctionBytes Newsflash - here's your chance to weigh in on what you're experiencing with the new format so far. Be sure and indicate whether your listing tool supports the new format yet.

Tom, You definately have a store....and it must be enabled, because I can go to it.....however there's nothin in it bubba.Oh wow! I think I have that part fixed, I found a thing that said enable store. And so, then the format, came up list on site, in store or both, so I think I fixed that part. Now, if I did, it's a matter of getting everything listed and placed on site. You can go to my store? I'm thinking, I must be inherently incompetent at this. It was easy to link my self to the site home page, but I don't get how to link other people to my store. I really just don't get it. :(
To get to your own store go to the home page>sign in>My accountTy, I can do that part. I should have mentioned in my about me page, I am color blind. But I have help listing item's, that have color. I used to have someone help me all the time, but she moved. She knew how to do all these things. On my own, I am totally ingnorant to comp lingo even. LOL. (grey bar)>store(grey bar). On the sub tabs of that page, click on the main settings. When you click that <> symbol you should get a box that pops up with html code in it. See, now that's what I mean, I do click it, and I get a beep sound, and nothing appear's for me, except view source. Though at Repatoo, I was able to , I think create a Rep tag? For the store here. Plus the Fee Bay one is there also. Or it was both there. I do not get a code though when I click that <> symbol. Just that annoying beep. Darn it. You should be able to scroll to the bottom, place your code and save........
Just curious, why are you wanting to place your store banner inside your store? If someone clicked on it within your store, it would simply take them back to your store home page.Oh , no, there you go , that's how stupid I am on the comp. I don't want to do that, I want my store to have that pic my sister made, that has on it WeHaveit777, in the spot where like it show's featured stores. But on this message board, I want that banner? Is it, like you guys have, with both rep tags. And to know how to put Pic's like some of you have on these messages. But , I don't know what I'm doing. I just don't. I made my first sale, and I'm really pleased, and thankful for that. And I even managed to send an invoice. There is so much here that I want to spend other time on, like these message's, and I sure do not want to be a bother to our other member's, so , no worry, I'm sure, I'll get on, without the banner , tag things. I really appreciate your answer's. I really , really do. Had it not been for the other message here, I would never have known about Repatoo, or how to create a rep tag at all, but that poster really put detail in the post, that somehow I got right. :)
Place your repatoo banner in your store main settings is a better idea.I was in hope's of doing that. But I promise you, that <> symbol only beeps at me. No code. I don't know why. I try it again and again. But it still just beeps at me.
Place your store banner in your signature for the forums here, just like you did your repatoo one.
If you need any assistance with getting items into your store, or your banner in your signature, please come back and ask. We will help ya navigate the site and soon you will be getting the lay of the land, comp geek or not.I think all of you are GREAT, to even offer, comp geek, well, I can't keep up with changes day to day, so that will never be me. On Fee Place site, I did manage to get a photo of me in my about me page. I took it off though. You know I should check and see if it's still in that Auctiva store page, I don't want it there either. WOW, another thing to have to try to figure out. I was really surprised, by the number of people, that sent me emails, not liking my Air Force photo. Hmm. I did my job there , and I did it very well. Here in this group you feel welcome, my photo there, made me feel like, why did I spend all those years defending our country? However some people did think it was good to see the face of the person they buy from and sell too. Takes all kinds. I can live with that. Thank you all, for all your help so far. Oh NOoooooooo. I just previewed this post, and now my tag rep thing does not have the Have20 on it. G's. Well, everyone have a wonderful day, I'll be here on and off, trying to figure out what in the world I'm doing. Laughing! Tom

LOL I love your posts Tom......Wondering on the <> thing and you say your hearing a beep, then nothing........perhaps do you have a pop up blocker running....if so, when you hear that beep, look up at the top of your "screen", there may be a thin bar that reads something to the effect of "a pop up has been blocked" I think you can either click that thin bar or right click it for options to allow pop ups from this site.

Now on to your banner here.......the only one I can make for you is the standard one that most start out with......since your color blind it would not do me any good to describe it to you. Except to say that Lana has one of the standards plus a personalized one, her standard one is the first one in her siggy, that says view my webidz store.
So let's start with that one to get you going,
http://www.webidz.com/wb_img/wb_store_1.gif (http://www.webidz.com/stores/WeHaveit777)
Copy the code above, and go to user cp. You can find that by scrolling to the top of this page, under the heading (WeBidz auction community) there is a bar, the first option is user cp.
Click on that and it will take you to another page, there are options on the left side, choose edit signature. That's where you will paste your code, make sure to scroll down and click save when done. Now you will see your banner in your signatures here in the community.

Wehaveit........
I looked you up as a seller is how I got to your store. It's the way we have to do it when you don't have a banner for your store in your signature here.
That search that I did to look you up did not take me to your store, it gave me a list of everything you had listed, I could then click on any of your listings, and in the upper right corner next to your name, I saw the shopping cart with the present in it. I click on that to get to your store.
The reason I do the search that way is because some of the "stores" have a different name than the user name, so it's easier in a way to search the seller and not the store.
I just looked you up again, and yes you now have items in your store, and the pic at the top of some type of flowers with the name WeHaveit777.
Now to get that pic, or any other pic into your the place you want for your store on the store directory.
Home page>my account>my store>Main settings.
You can do several things from this page......It's the same page you added that main pic for your store(the one with the flowers and your name).
Add your repatoo badge (code) there, under your big pic. If you need that code again, you can go back to repatoo and retrieve it.
Now you can scroll down the page a bit and you will see a section that says "Store Logo". That's where you upload the pic that you are talking about, the one you see for all of us in that "featured stores" section.
Choose where your pic is located, the top choice box is if you have the pic stored on your comp, click browse, find the pic, click on the pic, click open, then you have to click upload.
If you have the pic stored in a hosting site such as photobucket, use the second box (Enter File URL) to enter the URL, and click upload.
When you have that done, scroll down and click proceed to save your changes.

You know what, I come from a big military family, and I for one would love to see the Air Force pic up. And I for one am really grateful there are people like you who are willing to fight for the rights of this country.
My uncle retired from the Air Force, like his father. My brother went into the Air Force but didn't retire from it. My husband was in the Army, and I have a cousin that is on his 4th(I believe) tour in Iraq.
The list would be long if I listed everyone who has ever served in any of the different militarys.
Our very own Admin has served also. We are trying to get him to post his military pic.
So put it up, we would love to see a face to associate with the name.
And thank you so very much for your time spent defending this country.

Please put that picture up, Sir.. I promise all of you, as soon as I figure out how , I will put my picture up. In honor of our country, the administration here, and in full respect to all your responses. (((( Lanascountry))) And there is supposed to be your hug. Thank you again, for understanding , our service, was to fight, for all our rights, and two I think of, are: The right to Freedom of speech, and press, and the right to face and address our accuser's. Which Fee Place tried to take from us all. And pardon me, but those of them in charge at Fee Place, that haven't picked their self up and served for their own country, DO NOT get to tell me, I can't tell the truth, about, having to give 3 buyer's the money back. Along with them keeping the item's. I will not live in the USA, and be dictictated to (Lie), for Fee Place, buyer's, or any thing else in my life. You don't know me yet, but you will, I say what I mean and I mean what I say. And I will not lie, for scam artist buyer's. Or anyone else. And I wouldn't want anybody to have to do that for me. If you can't tell by now, I firmly believe in Christ , though I do not have a man made doctrine, I simply pick up my cross and follow where ever he leads me, and this time it was here. I also believe, that pathway, to the next life is a very narrow one, So not lies for me! I have big feet, and it could be easy to stray from my chosen path. Furthermore, it is my very humble opinion, there is no right religion. For in God's kingdom, there will be his children, all adored , just because we believed. No Baptist, as I was raised, no Catholic's, etc: Just all God's children, us! The true Church of God. I do not attempt nor would I attempt to demean any other person's beliefs, and I do not expect that other's should agree with mine. I simply respect people of all country's, have the right, to their own free will choice. And I am no person's judge. Keeping to topic, that is one of my main reason's, for getting myself away from Fee place. I will NOT LIE For them, no matter what rule or policy they create. No me. No. Never.
Many thanks!

This is the time we can really hurt ebay and take the wind out of the their sail. striking this holiday season will cost them more then they wanted to bargain for.
Starting October 1st, and Ending it on Jan 1, lets do it again! I know it will be difficult to do so, being it is the most craziest time of the year for sales and ebay is still holding as the largest marketplace online, but there are other places out there (most of the large ones are on the forums here) and you can market to other places easily. ebay is NOT needed anymore and we can prove that to them this year.
spread the word, and lets hold down our position, not giving up or giving into ebays greed, their fee structure hikes, and show them that we just dont need them as much as they think we do.
so what do we have to do to not give into ebay? just dont buy and sell things on ebay at all.
dont use paypal, period. by doing these small changes, all of us, we can do a lot.

 I wouldn't be able to control myself on that one, I just know it. I would have had to tell them, don't worry about coming to me. I'll be there to you! Serious or not? I hope and pray it is over with for you. Some people can be really horrible. I'm not, really I'm not, it's just my daily personal battle, and prayer with God, that I will do my part, daily, if he will just stand with me, and help me not to have that anger in me any longer. Word's are one thing, most best not spoken, in anger, but the threat of laying hand's on anybody in anger over material things of this world, is truly going to far. Self defense though, by legal mean's is perfectly acceptable to me. I'm sorry, it's early morning, I've been up all night again, and suddenly, I find it extremely funny, at just the thought of anybody telling me, they would come here to beat me up! LOL LOL. ;)
I do not however find any humor , that someone did this to you.
Thanks for the comments --i tried to give the people a refund just to settle it but they Wanted to beat me up --so i told them well just come on i'm 6 foot 4 and 300 pounds and can take care of myself and oddly i didn't hear much from them after that ...lol --which i didn't want to fight but if they showed up --i'd have no choice -- Glad they just left me alone and i know for a fact they were lieing but hey what can you do.

Same as you did HQ, you did all you could to settle it fairly even though, sound's like you had one of my recent buyer's from the FEE site. Amazing we are approximately the same in size, only I'm 6' 4", and 210. The only difference is, LOL, When I would have been pushed that far.... as to have to tell them "COME ON", I swear to you, and all, God know's, I'd have given them my full name , address, and blood type if they wanted it. Have done! But not over a sale. My wife, until recently was completely blind, and I worked my bun's off on Fee site, to try to get her , her last chance at eye surgery. Plus drive OTR, coast to coast and Canada. But each time, I'd think I was getting somewhere at Fee site, they raised Fee's, or gave buyer's back funds. Even with proof they received their auction's, and emails from them saying how much they loved the item's. That's when I learned, all they have to do, is come back to PPal, and say, the item was not as expected. PPal will go with the buyer side, even if you have proof , tracking, and emails with them stating their total satisfaction. I soon learned, The buyer's that emailed, but left no FB, were going to be the ones, to place claim's, it didn't happen, until the FB changes. Funny that! NOT! Long story short, my wife, is such a loving giving soul, God bless her, and I thank God for her. I got this comp, and at 1st, she was so discouraged with the blind software, she wanted to throw the comp out! LOL, but the lady is a genius, No Bull Spit. And soon, she could use it better than sighted people. No joke, shorten the pt here, one evening I posted to a message board, Military Vet's. And all night long, the man that started the posts, kept popping up IM's,( NO MORE IM'S HERE) they confuse her), telling her he was coming to do away with her, she didn't wake me. But I soon heard the comp speaking, and that is the man, I gave my address to, my blood type, address, Rank and where to find my records. Since he claimed to know so much about me. Though I knew he couldn't, because I'm not at liberty to discuss my clearance in the Military. Now anyone can check the net, of course, and find if you really are or were Military. That's a given. But records NO! I realize this is rather personal info, however, the entire point is, NO PERSON, should tolerate threats of harm, from anybody on the net, and not take it seriously. You, I commend on your action's, you behaved much wiser than I did. Over the years though, we learn, we've been scammed, not just for money. You just never know, who is at the other end of the keyboard. My most recent , you know about, and again, I thank you and Lana and the Boss here sincerely. And on a happy note to end this post. My wife now does have light in one eye, and can see , far away , not to far, but praise God she can see, though nothing close to her. Still YEA! She is still healing, and faces two more sugery's, though we know she will never see form her right eye, one is better than none. She would not hear of, the idea of me giving her one of my eyes. Bless her heart. She actually pitched a fit, when I wanted so bad to do that for her. I guess I learned! As, an old man, whom I respected , once said, the correct answer to your wife are: Yes dear, your right dear, and I won't make that mistake again dear. Wise man. I love this forum, and the people here. It's a very good place, to share, not only Fback extoration, but other kinds also, as well as scam's, and new Virus threats. And just general conversation. Based on your previous post's, I've been able to find! I find you to be an honorable seller, honest, and very enjoyable, plus helpful posts. As well as many other's here. Though I have so much to learn, in order to belong, to this community, I have all kind's of difficulty, navigating where to find posts, how to get to the next one, in the same thread, how to get back to the thread. And I even may have messed up , A feedback here. 5 Star seller, all the way, but when I left it, she didn't have 5 star's every where. I keep trying to find what I need to learn, but you will all see great improvement from me, once my wife's eye is healed. I'm sure of it. A big PS: Like you, I have no desire whatsoever to ever harm another soul again, self preservation, is the only way, I could be forced to do that. Tom.
thanks again

I'm not selling anything there, currently. PP, bookkeeper closed one account, but the response was, 180 day wait. Wasn't the one for here though. Sorry. Though when asked why,
she did leave a message, Something on the order of this: Closing EFEE account, and PP account, due to what you have done, to so many, in remote area's such as these, there are many elderly and disabled, who are educated enough, to email, and use ebay on comps. They will not chance compromise of attemting to open a PP account with what little income they do have, they fail to understand how to protect their comps From attacks , and as most don't even have C Cards, other's don't have Checking, they handle on their own, they have court, appointed people to over see thier fund. And her opinion, that E FEE, has damaged the very quality of life, that these people, were at least able to maintain, in accquiring needed item's, at reasonable cost's, such as clothing for children, themselves, and many other needed item's. ( AND I FIND YOU WRONG) to take that away from so many all over the USA. Shes a winner, I'm lucky to have her helping me, when I'm on the road. I'm sure she added more , but that is the jest of it.

I have not read completely through a lot of what was said in this thread but after the last I heard about what they were doing as far as feedback over there, I had decided to never go back for any reason. I still have an account there as others in this house do not and they will find something on there that they want and I use my account there to get it. Other then that I do not even go over to that site to even view what is up there.
The site is full of negativity and I prefer to keep all that is negative out of my life. I am a happy person, for the most part, and anything that is negative I keep out of my life as much as possible.
So my advice to those that are looking to even start on that other site, come here first. Several know me and I have been welcomed with open arms and like the atmosphere here.
If you keep negatives out of your life, you will be a happier person!

WAIT till I get in one of my goofy moods!

Welcome Crystalhanger, it's really good to have someone here, that shares my view on Negative anything, my quote I often use is: " You can build on anything positive, but you can build nothing on negative". Plus I feel like negative thoughts even, steal our joy for life. I wish you loads of happiness in this community. And don't worry about the banner, I couldn't even do it, and the people here, made me feel so welcomed, they made it for me, and all I did was copy and paste it. :) Tom

I have people in my family that are negative minded and they do not come around much anymore because they know that they are not going to pull me down with them.
I am like everyone else out there when things get bad or tight that I sit and react by crying, getting angry or just wanting to punch a wall. But I try REALLY hard not to stay negative and keep thinking positively that everything will work out. When in a dark tunnel, you will see only the dark. But it is those around you that have been in that same tunnel that will tell you that there is light at the end of it. Just at the present time "you" cannot see it.
I have friends from the UK that are always there for me when I am having a really bad time and they have helped me more times then not. They have no idea of just how much I appreciate them letting me just punch the wall, so to speak, with them. They are really great people!
I may sound like a goodie two shoes from some of what I said but believe me! That is not who I am. It is just my outlook on life. All positive is always the best way to life one's life. Good to see that I am not the only one that pushes negativity out of their lives! GOOD for you!

I have people in my family that are negative minded and they do not come around much anymore because they know that they are not going to pull me down with them.Sad to say it, but recently due to the passing of my parent's, we've had to have some family member's not come round often too. Seem's they can't see the light, for the dark clouds they hang in front of themseleve. I'm not a goody, goody guy at all, But I've told them: " You want to know what I think hopeless is?". " It's the person or person's that don't get up and at least try to do something about what is causing the negative in their life". That was very popular with them.
I am like everyone else out there when things get bad or tight that I sit and react by crying, I admit, tear's came to my eyes, when after all this time, we learned my wife, won't ever see from her right eye again, and that the left isn't healing properly, even if it does, she won't ever see what is close to her, BUT there is a bright side, she has Light, and she can see some things far away. Thank God. getting angry or just wanting to punch a wall. This is one, my wife doesn't allow from me anymore, no kind of violent acts, unless it should be self defense. That my cross to bare. I fight that what used to be me daily. But I win so far now, for almost 10 year's. On occasion, I get snippy. Example: During shopping, a woman was allowing her 10 yr old to control the basket, well, about the 4th time, the child hit me with it. And mind you I wasn't having fun anyway, shopping for ladies item's. I turned around, and said: " Lady, If I wanted to play bumper car's , then I would have gone to do just that, now either you get control of you child, or get the H____ out away from me. ". Wife was not proud!!! But I got the entire isle to myself. Everybody cleared out. LOL. I am, 6'4", ex military, and yes ma'am I've had tears, the day 10 years ago, when I said: " God if your really out there, if you'll just take this anger from me, I'll do my part to try my best to keep it away". WHOA! It was a beautiful day outside, and I promise you, I felt the wieght of the world lift off me. Instantly. It changed my life. I never want to forced to change back to the way I was. So negative won't do for me. But I try REALLY hard not to stay negative and keep thinking positively that everything will work out. Oh yeah, Worry, well I sometimes think of all the times I worried, sometimes to the extreme, and I could allow myself to do that know, but you know never once in my entire life, did all that worry, change one thing, that was causing the problem to begin with. So, I feel like you have the right idea, and you'll be just fine, Never give up. When in a dark tunnel, you will see only the dark. But it is those around you that have been in that same tunnel that will tell you that there is light at the end of it. Just at the present time "you" cannot see it. True, but it's there!!! The grand balance of all, as I see it, if God took away Darkness, then he'd have to take away light, if he took, tear's, then he'd have to take smiles. etc:
I have friends from the UK that are always there for me when I am having a really bad time and they have helped me more times then not. They have no idea of just how much I appreciate them letting me just punch the wall, so to speak, with them. They are really great people!Amen so do I, and I thank God for them all.
I may sound like a goodie two shoes from some of what I said but believe me! That is not who I am. It is just my outlook on life. All positive is always the best way to life one's life. Good to see that I am not the only one that pushes negativity out of their lives! GOOD for you! And the same to you. We'll all be just fine, just need to keep our focus on the light at the end of tunnel. IMHO. Blessing's to you, as you follow that path. Tom

Hello everyone...I'm back again with some important updates and reminders.
Paperless Payments Required
eBay's new Paperless Payments policy will roll-out this week. That means sellers will no longer be able to list an item without one of the approved electronic payment methods: PayPal, credit or debit card payment to a seller's merchant account, or ProPay. You can also offer Pay on Pickup in addition to these payment methods. If you don’t already, you should add at least one of the approved electronic payment methods to your listings immediately so they aren't blocked when you relist. Once the new policy rolls-out, prohibited payment methods will no longer be displayed in the Payment Details section of the item page.
Listing with ProPay
When the new Paperless Payments policy rolls-out, you’ll be able to sign-up for a ProPay account and link it to your eBay account, so you can begin offering this payment option to your buyers. For more information, go to www.ProPay.com.
More time to update listing descriptions
You also need to remove references to checks and money orders from your item descriptions. We know that this is a busy time of year for sellers so we’ll wait until January 15, 2009, before we begin insisting on the removal of prohibited payment methods from item descriptions.
Listing fee credits for restricted listings
We will credit insertion and feature fees to sellers who are forced to cancel and relist "restricted" Good 'Til Canceled listings in order to remove references to checks and money orders from the item descriptions. We will credit insertion and feature fees for all multiple-item Good 'Til Canceled listings that meet the following criteria as of October 20, 2008:
-- Listed on eBay.com in categories covered by the Paperless Payments policy
-- Have at least one sold item
-- Offer check or money order as a payment option.
Get more details and see Frequently Asked Questions on Paperless Payments.
Seller Standards: new policy requires minimum DSRs to list on eBay
I also want to remind you that the new Seller Standards policy is going into effect on November 3. We will begin enforcement of this policy as follows: Sellers with one or more Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) below 4.1 will be restricted from listing. Sellers with a DSR between 4.1 and 4.3 will be allowed to list, but their listings may be subject to further demotion in search results. See best practices for improving your DSRs.
These policies will go a long way to help all eBay members buy and sell with confidence, and we thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Dinesh Lathi

Folks, here is a post (I saw) on PSU and thought some of you might find of interest.
eBay's Donahoe Has Crow For Thanksgiving
by: Dinah Balk
Most eBay sellers enjoyed a nice turkey dinner yesterday with all the trimmings but I suspect John Donahoe, eBay (EBAY) CEO found a generous portion of crow sitting in the middle of his plate because Nielson's numbers are in and confirm buyers, sellers, and shareholders worst fears – John's disruptive innovations backfired!
The numbers tell the story. 1) Nielson reported a steady decline in eBay traffic all year but in October traffic dropped by slightly more than one third over last year; 2) Medved charts indicate sell thru rates at the lowest point I've seen in years; and 3) eBay stock is making new 52 week lows – none of which occurred prior to John's disruptive innovations that began earlier this year.
Dinah's top 10 list of what's wrong at eBay.
1. Management. Sellers set up an online petition to remove John as CEO which is unprecedented but not unexpected given the results of John's disruptive innovations.
2. Home page. It appears to have been designed by a tech student due to content and unnecessary bells & whistles that cause the page to load as slow as molasses.
3. Search. Best Match is designed to think for buyers but it seems to have an IQ of less than 50 judging by its performance. Most sellers have reported a 50%+ drop in sales.
4. Paypal. This has created a buyer vs. seller situation. Sellers refuse to ship before they are paid (can you blame them?) and Paypal is now judge & jury of all SNAD claims.
5. Advertising. eBay has increased advertising that sends buyers off the site. No wonder traffic & page views are down – even Amazon is advertising on eBay.
6. Shipping. eBay capped shipping rates below actual costs for media sellers.
7. Glitches. These occur on nearly a daily basis which is inexcusable.
8. Feedback. Feedback should be mutual & not used as an excuse to hold funds.
9.Diamond Powersellers. These sellers' listings (reported to be free) have increased eBay's total number of listings by millions but the sell thru rate is low, the profit margin appears slim, and most items are cheaper at Wal-Mart & other online retailers.
10. DSRs. The last time I earned a star was when I was in the first grade which puts eBay's detailed seller ratings in real perspective.
What the he*l is John thinking? I bet shareholders are asking themselves same question as they sit down and enjoy their Thanksgiving feast. I bet SPIN is not the right answer.
Dinah's disclosure: I've been an eBay seller for many years.

This is only the latest scam on E-Bay. Maybe worse than the scams like this is E-Bay itself. E-Bay has changed several "policies" over the past couple years that force sellers into a corner. The forced everyone to use PayPal...more money for them since they bought PayPal. Latest is shipping fees...they force you into set prices even though you may not know the weight, etc, and you cannot account for boxing, etc. in you shipping fees...so as a seller you lose money. They are becoming less and less seller friendly...

Ebay is not a good place to be anymore, I am not very happy there, and am trying to get out. They've made a lot of changes, and not for the good ( if you're a seller ) Unscroupulous buyers are being protected by Ebay, and I'm not sure why. Many of us sellers are leaving or have left. I've only been a member here for 3 days, but I already see so many things that are far better here.
On average how long does it take to make a sale here? I'm looking to make some purchases to get my reputation up, but I do have my Repatoo banner. What's the magic number of positive feedbacks to get customers to start trusting? I'm anxious to start selling here, so I can stop selling on Ebay.

I do not know if this fits with the Ebay extortion thread, but it is certainly Ebay sneaky business. I won a few books on Ebay from Mediaoutpost. Within days of winning, I found that all the items in his Ebay store were gone and his online site was the same. Now he has a message posted at the online site, which if true, I find to be mind boggling, how can this happen to a vendor who seemed to be doing pretty good business. If you wish to read the message for yourself the url is http://outpostmediadeal.com. I am hoping that a few of the ex-ebay vendors that are now here will read this message and be able to explain how Paypal could demand such a huge amount of money for a deposit. Whatever the reasons or circumstances, Paypal and Ebay ruined this man and his business.

Spooky,
I am so sorry this happened to you. (I also was unable to follow the link though).
IMHO, a ethical and kind seller would honor his sale to you anyway and I hope
you get your items. It is NOT fair to not honor commitments just because the seller
is wronged by ebay or pay/pal..again IMHO. Wishing you the best in this.

The message is posted at the parent company site, I am thinking this is the only site he has kept up so his customers can find out what has happened. The url for this site is http://whiteelephantmedia.com. At this point, I do not know if the books will arrive or not. I have been watching his feedbacks at Ebay and there are some for books won after I won mine, so there is a slight chance. At any rate, he is advising all his customers to file a dispute with Paypal to get a refund, as he is unable to access the account himself. So to his credit, he is trying to do the right thing. Yes, I may or may not get my books or my money, but I feel sorry for this guy. He has been using Ebay and Paypal for 5 or 6 years and they just cut him off. That is cold.
