Okay, yall are gonna love this one.
Kat has done her good deed for today.
On a Sunday mornin someone wakes me up by knockin on my door.
It's my neighbors daughter. She asks me if I have seen their pig as it has gotten out of its pen sometime overnight. Of course not, I'm asleep, but I just tell her no I havn't but if I see it out I'll sure let them know where it is.
So I go and make my coffee and try to wake up (anyone that knows me, knows I'm not a mornin person and it takes me about 5 cups of coffee to even see straight), and then see her commin up the driveway. They found the pig and they need some sort of rope so that they can "lasso" it to get it back home. Got rope, and sit down at comp. I can see them across the road (daughter and dad) tryin to get this pig to go home. They struggle for a while, (this pig is not cooperating) not making any process.
So I get in my truck and go out to the road. Mind you I'm still workin on my first cup o joe, and still in my jammies and houseshoes.
Now this is no small pig, if it was a baby I would have just lifted it up in the back of the truck and drove it back to its pen. This thing weighs a good 400 lbs. or so. Possibly more.
So I tell the daughter, animals will go where their food is. Go get some of its food, and we will lead it back. I also tell her to bring a small bucket of water because now the thing is worked up from them trying to wrestle it and lasso it, and has not been able to get to water for however long it's been out.
So here's yalls good laugh for the day, in your head picture a girl about 19, me in my jammies and houseshoes, walking backwards and bent over, food and water bucket in hand) leading this pig (with its food and water in front of it), dad pushin from behind to keep the movement going forward, out of a field, and up a gravel road and back into its pen. I would say about 200 yards from where we started out. I also secure the pen so that the darn thing can't get out again.
There's my good deed for the day. LOL :D
Ohhh and my second good deed,,,,creating a laugh for everyone who can visually picture us leading this pig back to his pen.:D
