I am having a problem with SafariGifts. None of my items have been received. All of their listings have been removed. Are there other buyers out there that have been scammed by SafariGifts? Any info you have would be great. Thanks!

Did you pay by Paypal? If so file a dispute claim with Paypal ASAP

Thank you for good advice kat & mj. Filling out a ticket when you have any issues is always recommended. Then when you get a reply from us on the ticket, please read through and follow any steps that we list. Initiating a dispute with Paypal and/or your credit card company is also a good measure to take, as soon as you think something is wrong.

We feel using a credit card and paying through Paypal is the safest way to pay for any online transactions. If you have a dispute with a transaction, you can always file a dispute with Paypal. In the rare event that you paid to a highjacked Paypal account, and the highjacker removed the funds before you were able to charge back, you can then file a chargeback with your credit card company. To recoup funds from a credit card company, you must file this chargeback within 60 days of the transaction, and file as product not received.

James! One thing i have found out tho at Paypal! You can file a dispute! But if you change it to a Complaint you can not do a charge back later if the Complaint don't go threw!
We have already been threw this!
So folks what i'm saying Before you change your Dispute to a Complaint, Decide if you should do a Chargeback first! Decide which would be better?

Sorry to hear about bad seller, it makes it hard on everyone.Scam sellers are everywhere, even the big boys like ebay have scamers and it's just no good for anyone. I had a guy one time that was using my feedback from ebay and selling video games systems on another auction site (ioffer) and he was from TX and i'm from KY, i contacted Admin and they were super slow on reacting, so i contacted the buyers myself and told them he was linking to my feedback and was scaming so don't buy and file for your money back. I also contacted that seller and told him i was the guy he was pretending to be and i had alerted the proper people and he's in trouble -- he stopped selling and the admin never did anything best i can remember.

I was not aware of this, how is the chargeback affidavit denied? If a person does not receive product ordered, they should receive their funds back, regardless of paypal policy or what steps were taken with paypal. If your credit/debit card has the visa logo on it, you would be covered under the protections afforded by visa.

When i talked to them on the phone over our deal they told us right out if i change it to a complaint and it does not go in my favor, i can not come back and have my c-card file a dispute! Or if i do a charge back and it don't win i can not come back and file a dispute! They also said if i have my c-card company do a charge back it could take up to 4 months to get a answer! Myra and i had the speaker phone on and i even repeated it to them!

We did a charge back it is is over 4 months now! So i don't think there is any easy way! Just toss a coin like heads or tails and decide that way, what way should i file! It all comes down James to Paypal protecting themselfs again!

I think they were just trying to bully you, as they have no control of the chargeback process.

If you file a chargeback with your credit card company for "product not as described", you will most likely loose. As they do not usually handle product quality disputes, only fraudulant transactions, and product not received disputes. If I purchase a digital goods item and the product does not work, I will file as product not received (if the merchant refuses to refund). I figure this is accurate, as I did not receive the complete and functional product that was ordered.

I do about 1-2 chargebacks per month, and most turn out in my favor. Sometimes the banks or CC companies will give me the runaround, telling me I cannot file a chargback. I tell them I can and I will, and if they do not agree with me that I will speak with their Corporate office, as well as Visa for not honoring their cardholder agreement. The credit card company is also supposed to give you written notice, when they determine the outcome. If I do not get a response within 2-3 weeks I will call the back. If the person I am speaking with does not have any answers, I speak with a supervisor and demand action.

Every time that I have ever filed a chargeback for an actual "product not received", I have always won. I have even done this on some transactions that were completed through paypal, with a debit/credit card from my bank.

I agree with mj-trading though, James, in as you said Paypal "bullies" sellers all the time. Paypal is not regulated, and behave as though they can do as they please. It took me 2 months to win the only one I had, and get my money back. That was fighting Paypal every step of the way.

You've taken the time and patience to become knowledgeable about your credit card policies, but as sellers, most of the time--we lose if paypal is involved.

Power to Australia!
(oops, wrong thread, LOL)

As threw the years we know there was a separate Company and proccessed for chargebacks! As we have done this too! And your right James as they had to do it with those other's! That is the question i also asked Paypal! They said they are not regulated to have to do it like other company's have too! We have our own department that decides this! So it is Bulling us sellers!

Yeah, with their debit card, they could basically do what they want... and yes they will bully you and call the shots, as transactions are governed by their terms and conditions. If you use a cc through their site, the chargeback (if persued through the cc company) would be governed through your cardholder agreement. They don't want you to file chargebacks with your cc company, as it takes the power from them. So i could see them trying to mislead you into what you can and cannot do.

Is it Paypal policy that you cannot file a chargeback with your cc company, if you have already filed a complaint with paypal and not recouped funds? I could see them doing something like this.

Yep James that last sentance you said is what i was getting at! I might have not worded it right earlier But It's Paypal doing this!
