Because I have just joined here - but am from Australia, I just wanted to know what people's general perception was - would they buy from someone who was from another country and who is so new ???

I sell overseas everyday - but was thought my location may put buyer off ??

Maybe I am just being a worry wart.

Hello Jules! Put off - no, worried about cost of shipping yes! A lot of Depression glass went down under so if you are selling that for a low price you may have a market here. Sorry I was in a hurry to get out the door earlier - thought you were a Shelia - Julie. Bad eyes! Happens when you get old!:D I am only one person so who knows - depends on what you are selling.

Have a great one mate!

Please don't take offense to this as it is not meant to be.........WORRY WART LOL
You have your feedback listed, If I were your buyer, that would be the first thing I would check out. As long as you do your job as a seller, it shows in your feedback. Online transactions are all about trust.
Unless there was some indication telling me otherwise, or unless I personally had a bad experience with you, I would not hesitate to buy from someone that is from a different country.
I actually made a sale to someone in Australia last year, transaction went just as smoothly as I had hoped it would. So on that theory, do you as a buyer have any issues of buying from someone in another country? Probly not if the seller has good reputation.

Hi,

So far, most of what I sell has been inexpensive to send anywhee overseas - haven't had too many problems - and most people have been happy with the cost and the time frame they receive items in.

Thanks for replying.

I looked and see what you mean. No worries. Simple mail. Nothing heavy or bulky.

There is some heavier and bulkier items to go up yet - but even with heavier items I find that if you quote reasonable postage and give good customer service and the packaging is adequate - then buyers usually have no trouble coming back.

I have even posted heavy books from Australia to the US - even though the postage was a little more than normal - the customers were happy at the end of the day.

As a buyer - I have no trouble buying from overseas, depending on what it is.

Thanks Lanascountry,

The main reason for my question - was to guage how difficult it might be just as I am putting my foot through the door - not only as a newbie seller here - but also a newbie from somewhere else.

I was hoping that buyers wouldn't be put off by that - and hopefully judging from your replies that will be the case.

Thanks for all the replies - appreciated.
